I have Masters in Engineering and Degree in Chemistry. Furthermore, I have been a teacher for over 11 years. I have a variety of teaching methods to communicate with all students however diverse. When teaching each topic I incorporate a past exam paper question during each session, as this provides evidence of the required standard. I possess a current and in depth knowledge of all 3 exam boards: Edexcel, AQA and OCR. I continuously prepare students for 11+ entrance school exams including: Merchant Taylors, St’ Mary’s, Bluecoat and Liverpool College. I hold a strong rapport with adult students and enrich their knowledge. My thorough planning, enthusiasm and extensive experience will facilitate confidence and achieve results. I will openly provide both current and past references upon request.

During my current course I have led teaching groups of young children in regards to maintaining good oral health care alongside volunteering as a reading assistant during my Secondary school days. I myself have benefited from tutoring during GCSE's and A-levels and believe I understand what techniques help on exam day. My method entails working through real exam questions with my students until they are confident and are no longer afraid to tackle the most testing questions. At this point I go onto challenge my students with questions that may present as curve balls to boost their confidence and intrigue them to approach challenges positively. I would be looking to tutor in Chemistry and Biology at GCSE and below as my previous and current degree are based around the two core subjects.
I charge competitive prices and I understand what is required for a student to be succesful and show growth versus one that is stagnating and is becoming frustrated with not seeing results. www.*** first lessons are on me, just so that the chemistry (pun intended) between my teaching methods and the students requirements are met www.*** ;
Unfortunately, I am not doing home visits as I want to social distance and protect prospective students, however I am doing zoom classes which will hopefully move to visits in September
Message for any further questions.
Best wishes

15 years teaching experience. Starting as a practical demonstrator at Liverpool University and now delivering GCSE Biology Chemistry and Physics and KS3 science. I have taught A level with excellent results in the past but under the old specification so I'm charging more for A-level as it will take longer for me to prepair specification matched www.*** ;

I am a physical chemist and gained a PhD in chemistry from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2019. I am extremely passionate about my subject and have been teaching university and pre-university level chemistry for five years.
My teaching work has involved supervising large undergraduate laboratory classes, running tutorial chemistry workshops, writing problem sheets, teaching/lecturing in a classroom setting with medium sized groups of students, as well as extensive private tutoring experience. I am well practiced in communicating scientific ideas using a range of methods and am aware that frequently, different, or indeed a combination of approaches, are required for students to comprehend scientific concepts.
I aim to adapt each lesson to the needs, experience and required pace of the individual student. For example, I am able to teach and discuss key concepts and then walk the student though examples and practice questions, thereby putting the theory into context and helping to solidify their understanding. Some students who struggle with chemistry often focus too much on mass memorisation of reactions and processes. Whilst memory is obviously still important, I aim to help my students to correctly comprehend scientific concepts. The ability to accurately understand and rationalise chemical processes and ideas, is an integral part in learning, and consequently enjoying chemistry.
