Having studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University alongside coaching the university football team I chose to go into teaching as I enjoyed combining my science knowledge with my ability to explain methods to young people. Seeing young people improve was extremely rewarding and I wanted to put this in an educational setting. I have been a Head of Year and am now Head of a large Science Department. This allows me to keep in touch with new teaching methods and discuss with colleagues ways to help pupils improve especially with essay writing in Biology and data analysis. I am also part of the local AQA hub and therefore I am very aware of where pupils make errors in exams and how to improve in these areas.

What we do
One-to-one tuition is our core business. We provide private tuition to students of all ages, either in their own homes or online, covering all primary and secondary education subjects. In addition to our core offering, we also work with other agencies, such as schools, and we provide tutors who specialise in helping students with dyslexia, autism or other special educational needs.

Our growth and success have stemmed from our commitment to the high quality and personalised approach which permeates through everything we do – not just in the tuition we provide but also in the relationships we forge with customers and tutors alike. I have a wealth of experience during my 7 years in teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Biology and Chemistry are my specialism but will teach physics.
I have been a GCSE examiner for 6 years which has allowed me to have an insight in the way exam papers are marked and written and what the main student misconceptions and errors are.
I adapt my teaching to the requirements of the students whether it be any particular learning difficulty or wanting to focus on skills and exam techniques. I encourage discovery learning and problem solving strategies which will help them succeed in the examinations.

I am and have been teaching GCSE Chemistry for 13 years across a range of abilities. I have also had experience in marking for AQA. Through use of specifications and an accurate knowledge of common misconceptions, I have enabled students across a wide range of abilities to promote rapid and sustained progress, achieving excellent exam results.
I am currently working in a top private school and am head of year 10. I was previously a member of the senior leadership team at an Academy school. Career progression is indicative of competence alongise the establishment of positive relationships with students to create an atmosphere which is supportive and conducive to learning.
I have developed excellent skills in remote learning and deliver my lessons on Teams/Zoom. However, I can be adaptable to other platforms if required. I can also arrange small group sessions (up to 5 students), if your child would like to learn alongside their peers. 5 students: £50, 4 students: £45, 3 students: £40, 2 students: £35.
When teaching, I ascertain current levels of knowledge/understanding and provide bespoke activities for further progression. After 13 years of experience, I have designed countless resources to meet the needs of all learners and continue to do so through tutoring. I have an in-depth and working knowledge of the AQA GCSE Chemistry specification and proven track record in adding value to attainment. Furthermore, I instil a sense of achievement in sessions and confidence in ability.

I have a friendly and understanding approach, and have recently helped several students significantly increase their grades in Science and Maths, and increased their enthusiasm for the www.*** :- Science Teaching PGCE - University of Manchester (2020)- Physics - PhD - Imperial College London (2020)- Physics - Msci - Royal Holloway University of London (2015)Experience:I have 5 years experience in education ranging from KS3 to undergraduate level. I am an enthusiastic and energetic educator, with a passion for teaching Maths and Physics. I have gained a great deal of experience in private tutoring, as well as classroom experience from my PGCE. During my time as a private tutor all students improved by at least 3 grades, from the attainment grade when I started tutoring them, by the time they sat their GCSE exams. I received excellent personal reviews from both parents and students. I am very passionate about helping students to develop an interest in, and understanding of, the subjects I teach and their applications in everyday www.*** style:My teaching approach favours 1:1 tuition rather than classroom teaching, I feel like this is when students can really learn as the teaching style can be adapted to suit the individual student. I strongly believe in making complex concepts relatable to students everyday life, as this not only helps understanding but also means the student can see why learning about that topic is important. I also believe the best way to learn something is by doing it, hence I find having a focus on answering questions is very effective.

I am a fully qualified science teacher (first class degree, PGCE, QTS and DBS check). I teach at an 11-18 school with 4 years experience as a private tutor, with my speciality being in Chemistry. I have taught the full range of levels and abilities with experience of a variety of exam boards (AQA, OCR and Edexcel) and I am also an examiner for Edexcel. My students have always provided me with positive feedback and achieved at least their desired target grades.
I have experience in industry and use those skills and technquies to link the courses to real life uses as I believe that knowing how areas of the course are used in life gives a better connection and undertsanding of the content. I make and provide my own resources for the content that I am teaching and use as many exam style questions as possible. These are used to help improve the student's understanding of what is expected and not to fear a question that they may feel that they 'don't understand' but the skills and confident to attempt www.*** ;To also continually assess the student's understanding, I carry out end of topic assessments with them to see how they are truly progessing in the given topic. Following from this, all assessments are then discussed between the student and I to comment on any errors made and how these can be improved upon.
Each child is different and will understand things in their own time in a way that best suits them, I am here to provide support to students and I am willing to work with them to find a learning method that suits them to make the best progress.
During the current climate I have reduced my prices to make my services as accessible as possible for all students who wish to improve on their current Chemistry knowledge. Also, I provide face-to-face tuition (dependent upon the current circumstances) and online tuition. Here, I commonly use microsoft teams to provide my distance lessons but I am also happy to use Zoom or Skype if required.
