I have an excellent understanding of how students learn through evidence-based research and classroom practice. I have a systematic approach - I understand the student's need, how they think, their gaps in knowledge, their misconception and work with them to develop their confidence in the subject, be exam-ready and fulfil their potential.
I started tutoring alongside my studies in 2006. I've always found immense satisfaction in those lightbulb moments when someone struggling with a concept finally gets it. Science and especially chemistry is full of abstract ideas and often young people need that extra support from someone who can break it down to just the right level or explain in a way that it makes sense to them. I have a strong grasp on the curriculum and I adapt my teaching according to the needs of the pupils to ensure progress.

I always helped my peers when I was your age and I have also been tutoring GCSE Maths and science in a college for 3 years, during which I have gained valuable experience in the teaching field. My goal is to build a strong rapport with each of my students and develop personalized teaching methods to suit their individual learning styles. Having recently completed college, I have up-to-date knowledge of exam board techniques, which I aim to pass on to my students to help them succeed.

I went into the education sector and attained my PGCE and QTS through a SCITT program called GORSE SCITT. Hi, my name is Charlotte and I am currently on a gap year before going to university next year to study medicine. I have completed my GCSE's, achieving an 8 in GCSE Maths and a 7 in all three sciences (Chemistry, Biology and Physics). I have also gone on to study and complete my A-levels, gaining a B in Maths and Biology. I have also tutored pupils before in order to pass their GCSE Maths. During my A-levels, I was also tutored, so I know from both sides what it is like doing tutoring. I hope this gives you the confidence that I have knowledge in many different learning styles and revision techniques that can be tailored for each student. I feel this will help to improve every students attitude to learning and also what they get out of education, pushing them to the next level.
During my time at college, I have spent time researching and using many different revision and learning strategies in order to gain in sight into the best ways to learn in different subjects and topics etc. My tutoring style is using games, quizzes, past paper questions and revisiting certain topics with students in order to gain knowledge of the topic and an understanding of how to best answer exam questions. In lessons, students can expect to go through multiple choice questions as well as long answers and simple answer questions. We will go through the basics of each topic and then learn how to apply that knowledge to answer exam questions and gain marks.
The first meeting will be meeting each other and understand if you are the right student for me, and also if I am the right tutor for you. I will also explain to the student how my lessons run and make sure they are comfortable with everything.
