Hi,
I am Uma R. and I am from India. I am pursuing Masters in Bioinformatics at University of Bath. I have 5 years in experience in teaching and research which makes me an ideal candidate for teaching.
I have graduated from the Univeristy of Portsmouth with a 1st class degree in BSc (Hons) Biochemistry. I am now on my gap year, and will resume my MSc Drug Discovery at the University of Bath in September 2022.
I started tutoring at a GCSE level four years ago, and after a year of this experience, moved on to A-Level Chemistry and Biology tutoring.
I have had seven tutees during the past four years, and I can provide references upon request.

Here to gain some tutoring experince. I know how hard lockdown has been and with school starting again and mocks coming up soon; the pressure must be building up. I am a reliable, easy to get on with person. I currently work as a Science Teacher in a Wiltshire School so I have a good working knowledge of the curriculum and up to date teaching methods. I am a young teacher with a track record of great results from both tuition and in my own classroom teaching practice. I have plenty of enthusiasm and patience. I understand the demands of studying for exams, and I am also committed to finding new ways to teach things to young people, so that they have a deeper understanding of why things happen, not just that it is something they have to know for an exam.
I have been a secondary science teacher for 5 years. I can teach all sciences to Ks3, Biology to GCSE and Chemistry to A Level. I also teach health and social care Btec Level 2 and 3. Currently teach GCSE AQA trilogy combined science, GCSE AQA Chemistry and A Level AQA Chemistry. I also work for AQA as an examiner for GCSE trilogy combined science.
Typical lessons last 1 hour, with interactive and engaging activities to learn new concepts or build on already existing knowledge. With experience as a TA I have discovered how much I love teaching and passing on my knowledge to young, curious minds.

Thank you for taking the time to read my description. My belief is that all children deserve the best education and as a science teacher, I have always ensured my students are supported but also challenged so that they can undertake problems on their own. To this extent,I feel confident that a 6 month period of tutoring is sufficient to develop confidence, practice strategies that will enable success in exams and reach their potential. Tutoring is an intensive experience for both student and teacher and for maximum gains, a good rapport should be quickly established.

I offer a range of tutoring services in all science subjects at all levels (except Biology is only offered at A level). My prices reflect the level of experience (25 years teaching), being a head of science and a GCSE and A Level Examiner (Combined Science and A Level Biology). Many of my past students have gone on to become doctors, gaining first class degrees and sought meaningful employment, some even focused on the sciences!
