Throughout my life, I wanted to make difference in people’s life in my possible capacity. With the passage of time, I realized that is possible only in the foreseeable future, until and unless I carve myself out with such zeal and character, which makes one a leader who would have much positive impact on the society and carry along others with oneself in need of hour. I have never said no to those challenges and even sometimes failed too in achieving that but that never deter me from the complexity of whatever the task or goal, I was set to achieve. At school, whether it’s the debate competition, sports or other adventures of life, I have always Alhamdulillah, proved my www.***
At college, I was able to achieve several distinctions there. I got the Ajk state scholarship stipends every year. I was a best horse rider, record holder of Javelin throw of 90 meters and a runner up in inter-collegiate Bilingual-Declamation contest in 2013 as a English speaker. I was also able to get my first ever article "Funny English Language" published in our annual college magazine in just 9th grade. I made mistakes too during my life but I always learned from them.

I am an experienced mathematics educator, and I am passionate about instilling an understanding of mathematics in all my students. The belief that every student can surpass their perceived potential has always been a backbone of my teaching practice. I am aware that the same approach doesn’t work for every student, so I develop diverse strategies to maximise learning for all students. I look forward to sharing my joy for mathematics with all my students, whether it be in class or during tutoring sessions.

My name is Seun Michael www.*** Teaching has always been a passion. Because of my love for teaching and the opportunities it gives to make meaningful impact the lives of people, I have always strived to equip myself in order to competently face the challenges of being an educator. Education is the bedrock of any society. I believe teaching is the worthiest cause in the aspiration of making our societies and the world a better place.
I began teaching after my National Diploma from The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria where I studied Electrical/electronic engineering. I spent two years teaching and by the end of this experience, I knew I wants to be a teacher. The usual challenges attributed to teaching such as lack of institutional support and the rising indifference toward education by students only excited me to seek solutions. I was sure this solution would only make me a better equipped teacher. My resourcefulness was brought to the fore as I often had to rely on ingenuity to provide teaching aids where none was available. I also learnt that the traditional linear method of teaching which rendered students’ passive recipients of knowledge relying solely on the teacher was not enough to sustain the students’ interest. I therefore made my classes fun, engaging and participatory. I found that students are often active and willing collaborators when given responsibilities and if they can relate well with the subject matter. They also gained confidence and were less likely to be unruly.
The curriculum is designed to guide teaching and learning outcomes. A teacher must have impeccable mastery of the curriculum content in order to properly instruct the students. The latter, too having no doubts in the teacher’s abilities would willingly lend their support. In light of this, I enrolled at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria to study Physics. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2017, I went ahead to acquire a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute, Ibadan Centre and then teacher certification from the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). From the knowledge and experience gathered over the years, I consider myself competent in teaching physics and mathematics which I have done for about fifteen years now. Many of the students which I have taught are now graduates while some are doing well in various Nigeria Universities.
As an enthusiastic, self-motivated dependable and diligent person I believe in developing myself as an example of what I want my students to be in character and learning. I have always taken advantage of available opportunities in order to acquire the excellence which I desire in my students. Coming from a background of the use of the traditional chalk-board, I have endeavored to develop myself by getting computer skills via online tutoring. This enables me to teach with modern teaching aids such as YouTube, flash drive, wireless mouse, projector and so on.
Most often I am called upon to help instruct other teachers in order for them to cope with modern technological aids.
I am a mature team worker with good interpersonal skills able to work well in a group as well as use my own initiative. In the various schools where I have taught, I often help in organizing co-curricular activities for helping students develop problem solving, numeracy as well as critical reasoning skills. I believe that knowledge of the academics must translate to real life applications. Apart from regular examinations, I encourage and help to organize quizzes and games which encourage reasoning and team building skills. Working together with other members of staff, we explore online resources adapting existing ideas and creating activities to meet the needs of our students. I particularly enjoy these moments as they enhance students-teacher relationships as well as afford informal evaluation of the academic work. This is most vital in an effort to make students realize that the educational process is not merely aimed at cerebral development leading to mere acquisition of academic certificates but the development of abilities and awareness for the betterment of the society.
A teacher role is multi-faceted. As a role-model, counselor and ad hoc parent to mention a few, his or her role includes guiding and protecting his or her wards. Societal ills, emotional, physical as well as economic challenges constantly tend to limit students’ response to the teachers efforts as an educator. I endeavor within the general context of the classroom and occasional opportunities one-on-one discourse to motivate and direct the students to make positive decisions. I understand that it is not mine to impose on students or to judge them. My role is to guide them along accepted norms and ethics.
I am flexible and can adapt to most changing situations. I know that each work place is dynamic possessing its own challenges and opportunities as well as limitations. I therefore quickly learn to cope and work within laid down rules and regulations.
Although I have little experience in teaching students with special needs or disabilities, I have the opinion, based on personal experience, that special needs students are not lacking in abilities only requiring specialized skills in teaching them. Skills which can be acquired given the right opportunities and motivation.
I am interested in the field of information technology especially in the field of data science. I intend to explore the possibilities of analyzing and interpretation of data for educational advancement and development in high schools across the world.
I am particularly excited at the prospect of working as a tutor on this platform because it will give me the opportunity of gaining global experience while adding value to the students.

Experienced, UK Qualified Teacher & Examiner (PGCE BSc PhD)
PhD mathematician and qualified teacher offers maths tuition to A-level, GCSE and younger students. Teaching is exam-orientated with emphasis on past papers and exam technique. I have been a Cambridge International A-level examiner for 10 years and just recently Pearson Edexcel. ONLINE TUITION: I became comfortable with this medium during the lockdown, successfully teaching college classes remotely. I am a fan of Bitpaper and Zoom. I use a Wacom tablet so that students can see me write on screen! MY MATHEMATICAL BACKGROUND: I have acquired a wide and deep knowledge of Mathematics having studied it to doctorate level at the University of East Anglia. As a researcher I have collaborated with academics to develop and expand the body of mathematical knowledge and also developed a variety of other skills: writing in an academic style for the purpose of publication, giving academic talks, teaching mathematics and statistics in undergraduate seminars (including assessment). I have done a year’s work in community education, working in a team as a part-time SEN teacher of mathematics. The students comprised several young adults with various learning difficulties. I was teaching GCSE and pre-GCSE material. I found the experience challenging, nevertheless I managed to adapt and gave my best in difficult circumstances. My experiences in education have made me appreciate the diverse communities in London. I have had considerable experience teaching predominantly Afro-Caribbean pupils in South and North London, Asian pupils in East London, refugees in North London, as well as white working class and middle class pupils in the East End and Surrey respectively. My last post at DLD College London was an international community, with students encompassing the entire global and cultural spectrum. My first teaching practice was at The Archbishop Michael Ramsey Technology College in Camberwell, where I taught Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and 4. Many of the pupils were highly disaffected and resisted work; it took time to break down the barriers. Against this challenging background I developed and improved my classroom management skills, particularly in ensuring that every pupil was focused. I also spent a lot of time working with pupils outside lessons. In complete contrast, my second school placement was in a Beacon school, Coombe Girls’ School in Surrey. Here I developed my teaching style, recognising and using connections across the subject, using skilful questioning in class discussions to elicit pupils’ understanding and further their learning. Through my tutor group I experienced hosting circle time and delivering PSHE. I have worked as a full time teacher at The Royal Docks Community School, a challenging school in East London. I taught KS3 and KS4 mathematics, making extensive use of interactive whiteboard technology as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I also designed exams, taught Foundation GCSE and assessed coursework. I have had experience of writing reports ( www.*** assessing pupil progress in academic achievement, behaviour and attendance). I was also a co-tutor offering pastoral and academic guidance to pupils and parents. I have also completed short-term placements at Beal High School in Ilford and The Greig City Academy in Hornsey, teaching GCSE students and younger, establishing a rapport quickly. More recently I have acquired considerable experience at A-level, teaching pure maths, statistics and mechanics at Crossways Academy and DLD College London. Many of my students have achieved excellent results, fulfilling their university aspirations (including Oxbridge) and the performance of the weaker ones has been very satisfying. I encouraged and cajoled able students from all year groups to attend the Maths Club in order to stretch their thinking and prepare for various UKMT competitions. At DLD I had the privilege of working with an extremely talented maths faculty whose results were consistently outstanding. During the Covid lockdown I continued to deliver live lessons using the Canvas platform and developed my online teaching skills no end. As a Year 13 Personal Tutor, I have honed my skills in writing first-rate UCAS references which are very informative, detailing the background of my tutees and showing them in the best possible light no matter what their circumstance. I have also worked as an examiner for Key Stage 3 SATS and currently at O-level / A-level for Cambridge International Examination board. More recently, I have become an A-level examiner for Pearson Edexcel and now work as a private tutor of maths. PUBLICATIONS PhD thesis "Periodic Points in S-Integer Dynamical Systems" University of East Anglia (1996). "Oriented local entropies for expansive actions by commuting automorphisms" Israel Journal of Mathematics 93 (1996). "S-Integer dynamical systems: periodic points" Journal fur die Reine und Angewandte Mathematik 489 (1997).
