Teaching is my vocation and I am committed to investing a great amount of time and effort into professional development, craftingpedagogy, curriculum knowledge and a deeper understanding of the education landscape including the changes to the new Ofsted framwork. I place great emphasis on fostering positive relationships with my students, always identifying new ways to meet their needs, and developing the whole child, whether that be academically, socially or emotionally. Pupils leave my class as happy and confident individuals with a thirst for knowledge to develop their enquiring minds.
I graduated from Edge Hill University in 2003 with a BA (hons) in Primary Education and Physical Education with QTS. In 2012 I was awarded The National SENDCO award. I have more than 17 years teaching experience in years KS1& 2, including Y6. During my career I have held additional curriculum responsibilities for PE, DT, Science, Maths, SEN and Computing, I also hold Maths Specilaist Teacher accredication (MAST). Leading these subjects has allowed me to work closely with other colleagues to shape the curruculum design and delivery by creating schemes of work which are exciting and fun, enriched with first hand experiences. Most recenlty, in my current school, I was fortunate to support Teachers developing the Maths curriculum form EYFS and KS1. I was able to provide support and guidance so that colleagues could implement to better meet the needs of their pupils in these critical early years. The positive outcomes afforded me the opportunity to then support whole school maths with a specific focus on the more able pupil where I was able to eviedence a signifficant improvement in results. I found these experiences very informative and rewarding.
As an experienced Teacher, I recognise the importance of robust systems and processes, I use formative and summative assessments in addition to marking books to track and monitor pupil progress. I forensically analyse data to inform my planning, ensuring there are no gaps and pupils have a secure knowledge before moving onto the next topic. I aim for lessons to be well thought and purposeful with the right balance of pace, in order to stretch and challenge all levels of learners. I believe in delivering high quality lessons that are fun and engaging that require teamwork and participation, I listen to pupil feedback so I understand how they like to learn. I aim to support students address any misconceptions during lessons and promote independent learning, peerand self-assessment in the classroom. I incorporate blended learning and the use of technology my lessons. Recently I have created films about WWII, the plague and many other subjects. I plan lessons to meet the needs of all pupils including those on Learning Plans for SEND and high attaining pupils. I believe in creating a stimulating learning environment where pupils can challenge themselves.
I actively engage and welcome other professionals, including class teachers, teaching assistants, SLT and consultants, to secure my judgements of pupil achievement and lesson observations. I recognise this validation of what good or better teaching looks like enables me to share best practise and maintain a high quality of teaching and learning. Working with others to moderate assessment data also ensures my judgment is accurate, it allows me to reflect on my own practise.
As an active member within the school community I forge strong relationship with all stakeholders including multi agency partners. I have always built strong relationships with parents as I believe this is key to ensuring all pupils can thrive. In my role as SENDCO I line managed a team of support staff and It was my primary role to ensure all students needs are met in line with their EHCP. I was required to be the registered lead professional during reviews and liaise between parents and multi agency to ensure each child was offered the right support inside and outside of school.
Outside of my classrooms I have developed community links by taking a lead role in enrichement and after school clubs. I am a level 2 Football and Cricket Coach. In my previous school I led the football, cricket and running club. I have a love for sport and understand the importance of instilling healthy habits in children and the positive effects it can have on their mental health and wellbeing. Through my involvement in these sports I have developed good links with other schools, both primary and secondary whereby pupils have been able to competively take part in a variety of sporting fixtures. I thoroughly enjoy working with children during these extra-curricular activities as it not only teaches them new skills but the children also get the chance to shine when using existing skills. In addition to this, the children learn life skills such as; social skills, speaking and listening skills, teamwork, tolerance and develop leadership skills. I always look to involve myself in the delivery of clubs regardless of my role in school.
As well as sporting clubs, I have organised Maths clubs using exciting problems. One area that I am passionate about is engaging and including parents in the curriculum. I delivered parent Maths classes to provide skills and confidence for parents supporting their children with their homework. It proved to be very popular with parents and children notebaly, parents became more engaged with the work their children were doing. The importance of opeing up the classroom for parents anddeveloping these links has direlcty contricbuted the young peoples confidence in their educartion. I would be very keen to secure these links again.
I hope that I have evidenced my love of teaching and demonstrated my work ethic as an outstanding practitioner.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew H.

I am a full-time educator with over six years of experience. I am an English Literature graduate (BA) of the University of Aberystwyth where I especially enjoyed papers in Anglo-Saxon, Medieval, female empowerment and Viking Sagas. Following on from University I gained my PGCE with the University of Chester via the School Direct programme, beating 200 other applicants for one of the 20 places available. I was exposed to the latest in education theory and pedagogical techniques during the revamp of the National Curriculum. I then completed the prestigious MRes with Swansea University in the highly acclaimed Medieval Literature department.
As Head of History in my role, over the years I have worked relentlessly and have created the perfect programme for scoring top marks in GCSE and A-Level History! My programme taps into neurological stimuli to help revise and apply a practical understanding of content and essay writing. Additionally, I have also put together a revision programme to help ensure revision actually pays off and gets you the highest marks! Suitable for all exam boards and all learning requirements.
Tutoring Experience
I have significant experience with LAC and PLAC children, those with learning difficulties and mental health issues. This has enabled me to tailor teaching and learning to suit the individual and quickly spot the root cause of their issue. I am a member of The Tutoring Association which strives to make tutoring a monitored and professional industry. This means I continually embark on CPD in terms of teaching methodology as well as marking courses with a variety of exam boards and constantly reflect on my own teaching to improve.
Tutoring Approach
Learning should be enjoyable! I strive to make lessons interesting. This means they are automatically beneficial. If a student enjoys lessons, they are more likely to engage fully while also changing their outlook on education as a whole. It is my belief that the most important quality a tutor must possess is an appreciation of the individual requirements, needs and aptitudes of each of their pupils.
I will work closely with you and your child to provide the support that suits them individually.

I have over 20 years of tutoring experience. I am qualified and experienced in all aspects of SEND.
My subject is English Language, and I am able to teach KS3 and KS4.
My learning journey began with teaching ESOL and I have a level 3 in this field. I then progressed to do a part time PGCE and during this two year period, I did a placement within an SEND college. Following this, I continued to work in the same college for 7 years, before having children.
I have since worked with various agencies and worked as a freelance tutor. I have worked with a variety of leaners with differing needs. I have delivered sessions to profoundly and multiple disabled learners, learners with ADHD, Autism, SEMH diffculties and dyslexia.
I like to use a Mindfulness approach to learning when needed. This is particularly useful for learners who struggle with anxiety.
This approach is embedded into learning experiences and this helps with setting learning goals, both short and long term.
This is done in a variety of ways. It may be used sublimely, for eg: relaxing music is used in the background. Or, specific strategies can be introduced to the learner. Mindfulness helps with a whole range of learning difficulties, and with great success.

My name is Rachael and I am a qualified primary teacher with 15 years’ experience. I have a passion for encouraging a love of learning. I believe that if a child enjoys what they are learning then they will be motivated to listen, participate and ultimately achieve. I have a wide variety of experience working with SEND children and I understand that not everyone learns in the same way. Teaching is about adapting your strategies to meet the needs of the individual. As a mum of two children with ASD I fully comprehend the stress and pressures that are put upon parents to engage their children in learning. Therefore, I strive to create an enjoyable learning environment for your child to achieve their full potential and motivate them to want to learn.
In addition to my work with SEND children I have a great deal of experience tutoring children in preparation for their exams, whether that is SATs or the 11+. I taught year 5 and 6 for many years and my subject knowledge is very up to date on exam questions and expectations, particularly in maths and science. Whether it is about building up confidence or honing in those exams techniques I would love to help.
