A trusted community of teachers and mentors that inspire kids of all ages to find the wonder in the world's diverse subject areas, working together to enhance learning and development, both in school and beyond classroom doors.
Founded on a unique philosophy towards children's learning and development, we are a community of tutors and mentors who harness the true potential of our students and bring each of our subjects to life.
We believe that building a trusting relationship with the families we work with allows us to foster a genuine passion for the subjects we teach and a love of learning in our students. We have extensive experience teaching in some of the UK’s top schools and offer unparalleled insight into and each and every stage of our students’ development.
We believe that being taken under the wing of a truly inspirational figure can have untold beneficial effects in a young person’s life, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Being guided by someone who has achieved great things in their life provides a goal for children to aspire towards. At a time when they are so impressionable, the motivation, passion and enthusiasm which can be instilled by an inspirational teacher have long-lasting and fundamental benefits.
We work with a community of highly motivated professionals from a large variety of disciplines. The common factor is that they are all highly successful and are passionate about the subjects they teach. Instilling this passion in students is the reason that they got into teaching, and as such we value our tutors hugely. Connecting these tutors with families that will reap the benefits of their expertise and with students that will thrive working with them is our core focus, and is a truly rewarding experience for all of us at Pegasus.
Hi, I'm Sasha! I've been teaching Classics (Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation, Ancient History) for 6 years. I've taught ages 11-18 at school, and have been tutoring since I left school in 2015.
I really care about helping others understand what can be a difficult and complex set of subjects, mostly because I know the joy and satisfaction of getting to grips with them. Whether you're starting out from scratch, getting back into it, or preparing for an exam, I can help you improve your understanding and accuracy of the languages and culture of the ancient world.
I am currently tutoring online outside of school time, but have more availability in school holidays. I am happy to recommend textbooks and other resources, but will not require you to buy anything extra. Please feel free to get in contact, as I am always looking to take on new clients.
I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor, and have had previous experience tutoring 11+, as well as ancient languages. I have taught 11+ English, Maths, Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning for both the CSSE and CEM exam boards.
As someone who learned both Latin and Ancient Greek ab initio as part of my university degree and is now proficient in both, I feel I am able to confidently teach the skills that enabled me to learn these languages to students of any but the most advanced level. Due to COVID-19, all lessons will be taught online via Skype.
I am able to provide full-length lessons teaching material for the first time (11+, Latin and Ancient Greek only), as well as mark work, provide feedback on essays, and work through past exam papers (particularly relevant for 11+).
I tutor Latin, ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation to all levels, either as a complete syllabus or a support to schoolwork.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2018 with a degree in Psychological and Behavioural Science. Currently I work as a research associate for the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the Oxford University Hospital Trust (NHS). I am about to start a second degree in Medicine at Cardiff University in September. I've worked both with several companies and privately for the past 5 years tutoring students for Oxbridge admissions, Psychology, Latin/Ancient Greek and admissions aptitude testing (Oxford, Cambridge, UCAT). I have also worked in Hampstead Fine Arts College as a PSHE teacher.
I have taught boys and girls in secondary schools (boarding and day, single-sex and co-ed), and have tutored pupils from Y5 www.*** ; In a school environment I have taught the top year (Y6) in a primary school, and all tiers of secondary school (including GCSEs, A-Levels, and the International Baccalaureate). I have also tutored pupils preparing for Common Entrance exams and scholarship exams.
I think tuition sessions benefit from incorporating as much variety as possible, including vocabulary-picture association in memory games, translation work, grammar exercises, and (if required) the solid staple of vocabulary www.*** ; I can provide tuition across the full spectrum of age and ability, from those facing particular challenges with their learning to assisting gifted students seeking to extend their www.*** ; I always provide an updated 'Scheme of Work' to both pupil and parents after each session, so that everyone is clear what the targets are and what has been www.*** ;
Please note that lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged at the full www.*** ; Lessons cancelled between 24-48 hours beforehand will be charged at 50% of the full rate.

After the birth of my third child, I stopped lecturing and took a job locally as teacher of Greek and Latin at Pilgrims' Prep School in www.*** ;
At the University of Bristol, I taught undergraduates and post graduates, many of whom were Adult learners.

I give alumni interviews for Harvard applicants in the Winchester www.*** ;I am very skilled in online instruction, but I don't have a Facebook page or personal website. I have been teaching Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation at a secondary school for the last four years. Prior to this, I tutored primary age children in multiple subjects, including Latin, Ancient Greek and Mathematics. I also tutor Mathematics up to GCSE level and have helped many pupils with different learning styles to understand many different concepts.
I believe in teaching in an enjoyable and memorable manner, but one which also keeps the information fresh in the pupil's memory. A range of teaching styles means that I can adapt to a preferred way of learning. I have completed my PGCE and NQT and therefore am a fully qualified teacher. I would be happy to discuss exactly what would be wanted out of lessons before beginning them, as well as offering the first lesson for www.*** ;
I have been teaching all levels of all three classical subjects in UK secondary schools since 2005. Currently Head of Classics.
