Hello, and thank you for your interest in my profile.
I am an experienced Finance Director and Chartered Certified Accountant with an MBA from Durham University. Durham being ranked 3rd in the UK, 5th in Europe and 10th globally.
My strengths in addition to my extensive career experience and academic accreditations, is that I am skilled at explaining complex accounting, finance and economic concepts in an easy to understand, practical way to finance and non-finance people alike.
The first 1-hour session is free. We would use this session to get to know each other (both you and/or your child) and to understand specific areas where support is needed. I will draw up a study plan to lead up to revision, mocks and final exams, as required, to be shared and agreed with you before we start the fee-paying session. This will ensure maximum benefit from the lessons.
Additional one-off lessons are available on request, as are bespoke laminated memory flash cards and mind maps for that last minute or on the go revision refresher. Additional lessons may for example include revision support or elements of a subject that "you just can’t get". For an additional fee, I also offer an out of hours telephone support service, for the early morning, late night revision when you just need to pick up the phone and ask a question.
With my extensive practical experience in the field of accounting, finance and economics, I will get you or your child over the mental blockers and inspire confidence in exam success with the application real life examples to theory. My teaching technique will embed subject elements into memory for recollection in an exam setting and beyond. I have some excellent revision techniques, invaluable for the run up to the exams I would be delighted to share.
To me, every pupil is individual, and my approach is to take a bespoke approach to those individual needs.

I have many years’ experience in tutoring on a one to one basis having worked in both education and work-based training. My experience results from my time working within two primary schools over several years during which I was heavily involved in setting curriculum standard across English and Maths.
In addition, I have an exceptional knowledge of the current changes in GCSE, KS1, KS2 and KS3 syllabuses and can teach a broad range of subjects covering Primary to Adult education. In addition to a teaching qualification I currently hold a TEFL certificate for teaching English as a foreign language. Having current experience in the education sector working as an Educational Consultant for School Libraries I have a good knowledge of the current curriculum in both English and Maths. This along with my teaching experience provides me with a sound basis for teaching these subjects and has furnished me with a large amount of expertise in the relevant fields.
As much as possible I like to make my lessons fun so that my pupils learn without knowing in an enjoyable and relaxed way. I believe this makes way for a productive session which is both interactive and encourages learning and an approach I believe mirrors my personality which is easy going, relaxed and methodical. Therefore, facilitating students to make great progress and achieve the best results they possibly can.

I have many years teaching experience. I have completed BSc (Honours) in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University. In addition, I have passed two high profile professional exams (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA & Chartered Financial Analyst CFA) in accounting, finance and investment sector.

I teach accountancy, finance, investment, tax & statistics in graduate & post graduate level. In addition, I teach high profile professional exam students for ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT, CTA, ATT, CISI, IMC & CFA. I also teach portfolio management, wealth management, corporate finance, financial reporting, quantitative method, equity investment, fixed income, econometrics, alternative investment, risk management, derivatives and foreign exchange. In accountancy, I teach all subjects area which includes financial accounting, financial reporting, corporate reporting, management accounting, performance management, financial management including advanced financial management, audit and assurance, personal taxation, corporate taxation, capital gain tax, value added tax and inheritance tax. I make the study material to students easy and understandable so that it makes sense to the learners. I provide friendly learning environment. I repeat key concept many times until the students grab it as understanding the key concept is very crucial for passing the exam. I demonstrate how to approach the exam question and answer the question within time limit as time management is another essential factor during the exam. Rate: The rate advertised in the profile is online rate. Online lesson is cheaper. Minimum rate for meet in person is £60 per hour and could be changed according to the distances. Rate could be changed due to complexity of the subject.
Other information: First lesson is 1 hour. Second and subsequent lesson is minimum 2 hours per session.
