Hi, my name is Vicky and I'm an ex-head of science at a secondary school in London. I have also been a tutor for the last 4 years. I've been teaching for just over 6 years with experience on multiple exam boards and teaching all specialisms of science. I am currently teaching myself how to code and looking for a career change, however, I am still tutoring as I love how rewarding it is! I gained my PGCE in 2017 and started my role as a science teacher in July 2017. I have taught all three sciences for both AQA and Edexcel, and chemistry up to A-Level. I have also worked as an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel, giving me priceless experience and insight into getting marks in exams! During my time as a teacher I received multiple nominations for 'changing lives as a teacher' awards within my trust - once as a trainee, once as a teacher and once for working cross-collaboratively across multiple schools. In your first lesson it's important that we get to know each other well so I can understand your goals and where you are currently at and so you can figure out if I am a teacher you'd like to learn from! We'll do an overview of some of the foundational topics in your chosen science (or all three if you'd like) during which I can assess your current level and you can get to see my teaching style. I am happy to set out a curriculum for your tutoring sessions or go with the flow each week where you let me know what topic you'd like to cover.
