My Background

I am a private Maths tutor based in Sandbach, Cheshire and teach students in the local area, as well as online. I have dedicated over 8 years teaching students in Maths and Accounts aged from 8 years old to 60 years old. I am up-to-date with the ongoing changes in curriculum and have covered KS2 up to and including GCSE levels. I have taught students with learning difficulties, challenging behaviours as well as A grade students and have gained experience in the need to adjust teaching styles to each individual. I take great pride in all aspects of my work and offer a friendly, relaxed and professional manner to all of my pupils and deliver high quality effective tutoring sessions with the emphasis focused on my learners needs and objectives at all times.

My Expertise

Whether you're a pupil at school, a college student or adult learner, Maths is all about confidence and practice. The "positive" practice you get, the more confident you will become.

My approach to tutoring is generally tailored to each individual student. Most students are inclined to learning using various visual, auditory, kinaesthetic methods of teaching and I adopt this approach in my lessons as much as possible. My general approach centres around identifying key areas of difficulty, areas of misunderstanding, consolidation through questions and preparation for exams using a holistic approach.

As a private tutor, I can devote and tailor my time to finding the weaknesses and needs in your knowledge and then working on those, one at a time. We can work at a pace which suits you. I encourage regular discussion of progress and objectives between all concerned - myself, the student and/or parents.

The first session is spent assessing what would be most useful for the individual student.

Online Maths Tuition using Zoom and Bitpaper

Using Zoom and Bitpaper you can now enjoy online Maths tuition in the comfort of your own home. We can quickly and easily upload questions to the whiteboard and discuss the solutions while we write on the board. Your work will remain accessible on the whiteboard from any computer with an internet connection or if you prefer you can save or print your work to study it again at your leisure away from the computer.

Contact us to arrange a free 20 minute trial. If you're happy to go ahead we can discuss times. Once a lesson is arranged you can pay by online banking and we will call you on Zoom at the prearranged time, send you a link to Zoom and we'll load the required material and get on with some Maths.
