As a graduate of accounting, my journey through the field has been a fulfilling one. It all began with my passion for numbers and the desire to understand how things work financially. I pursued a degree in accounting and was thrilled to discover how much more there was to learn. After graduation, I was fortunate to secure a teaching position as a lecturer for 19 years. This enabled me to impart knowledge and positively impact the lives of countless individuals. I also served as an exam officer, and this further deepened my understanding of how to create objective and fair assessments. As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, I was exposed to many opportunities for growth and development in the field. From attending professional development courses to networking with other industry experts, I was constantly seeking ways to expand my knowledge and skills. To further share my knowledge, I tutored in a professional tuition center for 2 years. Here, I was able to reach even more people and help them achieve their career aspirations. The satisfaction that came from seeing them succeed was immeasurable. Now, as a master's student at Newcastle University, I continue to pursue my passion for accounting. I am eager to learn and explore new areas of the field. This journey has shown me that there is always room for growth and that with hard work and dedication, one can achieve their dreams. To sum up, my experience as a graduate of accounting has been rewarding, and it has taught me the value of perseverance, determination, and a passion for lifelong learning. |
