I currently hold the post of Director of Learning and Standards for Art and Design as well as Design and Food Technology at a large secondary school in Sandwell. I have guided students to achieve at examination level, partcularly pushing high level outcomes (grade 8's and 9's) for GCSE art and design courses as well as BTEC level 2 and 3 courses. I can also support in the development of portfolios for College or University applications and interviews. I am a lead internal verifier for BTEC and have recently started training to become a standards verifier. I have previosuly taken groups which had a pass rate of 67% A*-C to 88% A*-C within 2 terms as a result of my dedicated teaching. In addition to preparing students for examinations I have experience of preparing students for GCSE courses at KS3, working on drawing skills and exploring materials and media regardless of starting point. |
