From my time in secondary school, tutoring has always been something I’m passionate about. It’s incredibly rewarding to help students achieve the grades they’ve worked hard for. Having been tutored myself, I’ve had the chance to explore different teaching methods, which has helped me develop a solid understanding of how to support students in the most effective way. I achieved 4 A*s in A-levels (Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics) and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College London. This academic background has given me a deep and thorough understanding of the subjects I tutor. I have extensive tutoring experience, having worked with family, friends, and students of various ages through a family friend’s private tutoring business for six years, starting in sixth form and continuing through university. My focus has primarily been on GCSEs and A-levels. Additionally, I have helped prepare potential Oxford and Cambridge Engineering applicants by conducting mock interviews at my secondary school, assisting them in preparing for the challenging admissions process. In the first lesson, I prioritise understanding what you’ve been taught in school, explaining the study plan I’ve designed, and identifying the areas you find most challenging. Since every student has unique strengths and difficulties, I make sure to allocate extra time to the areas where you need the most support. To reinforce these topics, I use a range of questions that gradually increase in difficulty, helping to build both understanding and confidence. I take a flexible approach to teaching: while I follow a structured programme, I adapt it to cater to each student’s individual needs, ensuring that every lesson is as effective as possible. |
