Hello! I’m Sarah, an EFL teacher.
I began studying French at school at the age of 6 and thanks to one very inspirational teacher, I discovered my love for language and culture. So, at 17, I moved to France to be an au pair which lead me to discover my passion for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. After returning to the UK and qualifying, I worked for several companies teaching online, one-to-one and group EFL lessons to children and adults from all over the world and volunteered for a charity teaching English to refugees. In between, I gained experience in supporting students with special needs at a secondary school but my heart lead me back to TEFL. However, the needs of each individual student weren’t being accommodated and I was frustrated with the price the companies were charging my students.
With 5 years of TEFL experience, experience of learning a foreign language, experience of living in a foreign country and experience of hosting non-natives, I understand the importance of fun and interesting lessons, the value of an enthusiastic and friendly teacher and the challenges that come with moving to a different country, whether that’s accessing and improving education, employment and leisure opportunities, accessing and managing healthcare, emotional support and practical support or building new relationships. I specialise in Teaching English as a Foreign Language online and one-to-one.
I can’t wait to help you on your EFL journey! |
