I started off volunteering in a nursery in Cambridge and decided this age group definitely wasn't for me. When I finished my degree in Sociology I returned to working in a school but this time a middle school and it is here where I realised this was the career for me. I was much better with older students (not toddlers) and thoroughly enjoyed my time mainy working with Year 5, 6, 7 and 8. After a year and a half I went to Oxford Brookes University to get my PGCE Teacher Qualification and went from there. I have now worked in a large number of schools and met so many wonderful staff and students. I did some tutoring during my first pregnancy and my highly dyslexic student gained a Grade B at A level English Literature. I was most pleased. I look forward to more future students getting great results. |
