Classics is being taught in the classroom less and less, and it may not be easy for you or your child to find someone to help satisfy their curiosity concerning all the wonders of the ancient world. Here's where I come in! My name is Helen and I tutor students of all ages in all things Classical Greek: ancient Greek literature and the language in which it is written. I am passionate about the ancient world, particularly ancient Greek history, culture and language. I am the founder and co-ordinator of the Belfast Summer School in Latin and Classical Greek where I teach Greek at intermediate level, I am the convenor of the Classical Association in Northern Ireland and vice-chair of the Classical Association of Ireland. Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, I am happy to meet face-to-face or online. I am an Open Learning tutor at Queen's University Belfast and teach ancient Greek language from beginners to advanced level. I began teaching in 2011 and have experience teaching in both classroom settings and individual tuition. I provide GCSE and A level exam preparation, and assistance with university modules. Currently I teach adult beginners at Queen's University Belfast, intermediate/advanced Greek to a group of adults who have been with me for 4+ years, and am preparing a group of high school students for GCSE. In 2013, I tutored a student who required extra help with A level Greek and he gained A* in the A2 examination. Subject expertise: I began learning Classical Greek during my undergraduate degree some 20 years ago and I completed beginners and advanced modules. I read a number of ancient Greek texts during my Masters degree and completed advanced Greek modules.
