Approach to Tutoring My approach to tutoring is targeted, efficient, bespoke, and relaxed. I believe that a confident learner is a successful learner, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged and motivated to learn. I tailor my lessons to each student's ability, structuring my questions and teaching methods to meet their individual needs. Techniques and Teaching Methodology I use a range of techniques to help students understand and retain complex mathematical concepts. These include: Breaking down topics into manageable chunks Using real-life examples to illustrate mathematical principles Encouraging active learning through problem-solving and discussion Providing regular feedback and encouragement Focusing on exam technique and rubric to ensure students know what examiners are looking for Typical Length of a Lesson My lessons typically last 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted to suit individual students' needs. Qualifications and Experience I am a maths graduate from Aberystwyth University and a current data scientist in Bristol. I have experience helping 4 students achieve A*/A grades in Maths GCSE, and I am familiar with the major GCSE Maths exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA, and OCR. Who are my Lessons For? My lessons are designed for GCSE Maths students in the UK, typically aged 14-16. I am particularly suited to students who need help building confidence in maths, or who require additional support to achieve their desired grade. |
