Having worked with such a range of students in different subjects, I've had plenty of time to refine my tutoring style and approach. In our first session (which is free by the way) I want to achieve 2 things; firstly I want to get to know you as a student. What are you struggling with? What approach would work best for you? How can we be as time-efficient as possible? Secondly, I want you to see how I teach so you know what to expect. Once we have those goals ticked off, we can plan ahead for our next sessions. I like for my students to let me know ahead of time what they would like to cover, but I also understand that sometimes things come up and the plan changes. I also keep a focus on exam technique, it's so easy to know the content but be missing the application part so I ensure to build exam skills into each session. I am also always happy for you to send me any practice questions you have done so I can mark them and we can go over feedback in the session. |
