I am a pianist and composer and currently a PhD music student at the University of Manchester specialising in notated composition. I was awarded a Master's with distinction from Newcastle University in 2019 where my main focus was on composition but undertaking a music analysis project as well. I am an experienced private tutor and my compositions have been workshopped by ensembles like Psappha and Opera North. My latest project with Distractfold can be found on the additional link in my profile. I have also presented my research and compositions in international music conferences like the Penn State 2021 New Music Festival and Symposium. I have experience teaching children and adults, preparing them for Trinity College London and ABRSM graded exams in piano performance. I have also tutored students for GCSE and A-levels submissions in music. My postgraduate studies in composition and music analysis provide unique insight into each piece to help every student tackle the theoretical and structural challenges, inform their interpretation and develop their musicality along with their technique. I strongly believe in fostering creativity and encourage composition and improvisation as an integral part of the learning process as well as exposure to a wide range of music as a listener to help students find their inclinations.
