I give private one-to-one lessons to Key Stage 3 students and those preparing for their GCSE and A Level exams. I have an MA in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews and 10 years of experience as a mathematics tutor. Most of my students have been gained through recommendations by happy, satisfied students to classmates or other family members. I really enjoy giving one-to-one lessons as I can cater the lessons to the individual, taking their weaknesses, strengths, personality, goals and learning style into consideration. I like to make my lessons as engaging and interactive as possible. I am a very responsive teacher and throughout the lesson, I adapt the difficulty level according to how the student handles questions. I have also worked as a professional actress, drama facilitator for children aged 4 to 12 and as a TEFL teacher. I am a qualified (Celta Pass A-only awarded to top 5% of trainees) and very experienced TEFL teacher, who has taught Beginner to Advanced Level English to children and adults. I think this experience has really helped me become very adaptable and patient as a teacher, as I have worked with a wide range of abilities, ages and cultural backgrounds. After each session, I send a PDF compiled of screenshots of what we have worked through together in class and set homework to do before the next session. Closer to exam time, I will send the students past papers to work through before the next lesson. |
