Harriet lived in Spain on the Costa Blanca for sixteen years where she grew up speaking the Spanish language with fluency. During this time Harriet taught at an International Language School in Spain and decided to return to the UK, where she was educated at Rugby School and then went on to obtain her degree in Spanish at the University of Chester.
In 2010 she set up The Spanish Academy, offering Spanish tuition to adults & children of all ages, and also became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. She has taught in a variety of secondary schools across Norfolk & Cambridgeshire and specialises in Spanish GCSE & A level tuition. After ten successful years, she is now tutoring on an online platform as well as face to face and teaching students from some of the UK’s top public schools such as Eton, Harrow & Radley.
Langauges that are offered at the Spanish Academy include Spanish, French, Italian and German. All lessons are also available to be carried out online via Zoom at a time to suit you weekly.

I'm fluent in Spanish, ( my native language) French, and English and have spent many years teaching and studying languages. I completed a bachelor's degree in Spanish and English at Manchester/ALmeria University (2008) and studied Spanish and English Literature in school (GCSE and A-Level) so I know how daunting grammar can sometimes feel and how stressful language/literature exams can be... but also how great it feels when you finally start getting it!

I also teach courses to adults from beginners to advanced and I always tailored to each student's need. I also teach English to foreigners to achieve the Cambridge Examinations ( A1 to C1).
I effectively deliver and plan online outstanding lessons and the feedback that I have received from parents, pupils, and adult learners have always been very stimulating. I strongly believe in the student centered-approach as always shown in my lesson plans. I believe that all students are individuals with very specific needs so differentiation has always been at the forefront of my teaching practice. NHS Doctor with over 10 years of experience studying and completing exams and over 7 years teaching Maths, Biology and Chemistry for KS3, GCSE and A Level. My tuition approach is listed below.
Each lesson begins with a run-through of the topic and explanation of key concepts with opportunities for pupils to ask questions. Students are then provided with high yield exam questions and worksheets to complete. Questions are then marked together to highlight areas of strength and areas of improvement. An emphasis is always maintained on exam technique during each lesson. Assessments to determine student improvement are provided every 4-6 weeks.
All students are taught how to study effectively using two evidence-based study techniques:
1) Active Recall - Here students create useful revision questions to test their memory of certain topics
2) Spaced Repetition - Here students are taught how to strategically review topics regularly and boost their chances of remembering important exam content throughout the year and leading up to exams.
My classes are always tailored with a personalised programme for each and every student and remain friendly and engaging. All resources including specialised notes for each exam board, revision questions and exam question related to the tutees exam board are provided free of charge. Tuition goes beyond the `hour slot` as students are able to contact me via phone, email and tutor hunt messaging. I also remain engaged with the lesson and do not `clock-watch`.

My name is Sofía Borrego Morena and I was born in Andalusia, South of Spain; although I was living in Torroella de Montgrí, in Catalonia, for ages. Torroella is a cultural village with a huge historical past in the middle of the Costa Brava.
