I recently completed a masters degree in civil engineering at the University of Bristol, and have since worked as a structural engineer for 15 months. At A-Level, I achieved an A* in mathematics, an A* in physics, and an A in chemistry. At GCSE level, I achieved 9A*s and 1A, including an A* in maths. I am looking to help students work through topics they are struggling with, and achieve their potential in the subject. With a long-term teaching career, I know how to deliver an effective lesson to improve students’ performance.
In my lesson, you can speak Japanese as much as you want! Because practice is the key to successful learning and a shortcut to becoming a fluent speaker. Even if you have full knowledge, it could be practically pointless when you cannot use it in a real situation.
I deliver pacey, articulate, and intensive lessons with lots of fun elements. I can customise lessons depending on your goal, interest, and level so that the format will vary. In 2024, absolute beginners are very welcome, too!
Absolute beginner course has about 48 lessons /30 minutes (=24 lessons/ hour). I mainly use my handmade presentation slides created for standardised tests based on the grammar school's curriculum. You can gradually increase vocabularies and practise grammar in an organized way. When you complete this course, you will be able to speak, read, write, and listen to basic Japanese.
I am available before 5pm on weekdays, but this does not always apply to every student. So, please contact me to find out the detail.
Your first lesson is about 20 minutes, which is set for getting to know each other.

(i) For School UNI students I have a deep understanding of the National Curricula from the different Boards, Aqua, Edexcel, Cambridge, and preparing students for University examinations, including UCL or Oxbridge. I have had several years experience teaching Classics in the UK and am now completing my MA in Classics alongside my full time work as a Classics teacher in south London. As a key member I have been developing our provision so we now offer A Level Classical Greek for the first time in several years! One of the areas I particularly enjoy working in is successfully supporting young students as they prepare for entrance exams with previous experience in particular for St Pauls Boys and Winchester College. Terms and conditions
I pride myself on building up a good working relationship with my clients. Since tutoring is normally for a period of some months as examinations approach and in the interests of fair play for both parties, I've set out some key points regarding charges and cancellations during the tutoring period.
Charges
A-Level sessions are delivered online weekly via Teams in one-hour blocks. Charges reflect my qualifications, experience and the way my sessions are tailored to each individual student’s needs, making them highly effective at boosting learning, confidence and grades. Knowing all the misconceptions and pitfalls on content and structuring examination questions makes all the difference and it is vital that tutoring is effective for the student.
I am happy to offer each new client one free initial assessment and discussion session to assess the needs and type of help required plus it gives you a chance to see how I work and fit in with your requirements. There is no obligation on either side to continue after this first session.
Cancellations Policy
Once a regular slot has been booked for the student, the same time every week, I will endeavour always to be available to tutor them. There is scope for discussion if a session needs to be rearranged (24 hours requested), subject to my availability.
From time to time, flexibility on both sides is required due to life events and unexpected occurrences. This may involve cancellation of a particular session or the need to reschedule and I will always try to accommodate if I can do so.
