With more than a decades of experience as a Secondary School Teacher, Coach and Mentor I able to offer a bespoke targeted session or package of lessons to support progress for all levels.
I am also an experienced Gifted and Talented Coach who is able to support the needs of more able students at KS2-4.
I can tailor a bespoke package of learning for all levels and abilities.
I work online and do some face to face sessions and can organise a local meet up in a public place such as a library.
I can offer coaching and mentoring, NLP, relaxation and cognitive and behavioural therapy - especially useful for nervous and shy students.

I am a Spanish native and have lived and worked in Glastonbury for the last 9 years. I am a certified teacher (QTS) with a B.A. (Hon) in Educational Psychology from Murcia University in Spain.

I source most of my tutees via word of mouth recommendation and through my facebook page Milborne Maths. This academic year, I had a few resit students approach me therefore some slots have opened up mid way through the year now they have sat their exams which is unusual! I am usually fully booked by now and having to turn people away - so you may be in luck!
I use the zoom platform to host my lessons and have an online calendar that students usually book from.

I am a recently retired Head of English who has worked in both state and private education. I am now an examiner for English examination boards and the International Baccalaureate. Although i have retired from the classrom I still enjoy enormously working with students on a one-to-on basis to help them with whatever they need. I have been a professor, lecturer, and tutor at universities in the UK (Lancaster University, University of Bath, University of Western England), United States (Minnesota, Columbia NY), and South America (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad de Belgrano) for the last 20 years. My main subjects have been philosophy, history, psychology, and physics, as well as social research methods and theory, including both qualitative and quantitative methods. For the last 13 years, I have also taught English language, critical theory and thinking, and discourse analysis, as well as teaching and supervising students. I have supervised and mentored many PHD students.

I have recently retired (July 2020), aged 67, after 17 years teaching English at Shrewsbury School, one of the UK's leading independent boarding and day schools, recently voted TES Independent School of the Year. I was also a boarding housemaster for 13 years from 2007-2020. I graduated from Cambridge University (Magdalene College) in 1976 and qualified as a barrister in 1977. Fom 1977-2003 I was a legal writer, editor and for 15 years, from 1988-2003 Managing Director of one of the UK's leading law book publishers, Jordan Publishing Ltd. In 2003 I retired from the business to pursue a lifelong ambition to teach English.
