This typically involves summarizing the topic and then using practice questions to reinforce understanding. However, I am flexible and can adapt my approach to suit your specific needs.
I always helped my peers when I was your age and I have also been tutoring GCSE Maths and science in a college for 3 years, during which I have gained valuable experience in the teaching field. My goal is to build a strong rapport with each of my students and develop personalized teaching methods to suit their individual learning styles. Having recently completed college, I have up-to-date knowledge of exam board techniques, which I aim to pass on to my students to help them succeed.
Additionally, I emphasize the importance of building confidence alongside academic skills. I have over forty years' experience of private tuition to students aged 2 to adult. I have taught maths and English to all ages, including preparing students for entrance exams. I also teach science up to KS3. I have worked with those for whom English is not their first language, to help them improve their skills. I also have extensive experience of working with students with various kinds of special educational need such as autism, ADHD, delayed development, etc.

I am in my final year of a Sociology with Criminology degree and have recently submitted all of my work. I am currently predicted to graduate with either a high 2:1 or a First Class Honours. I offer tutoring for GCSE and A Level Sociology students who are looking for extra support, whether that means help with understanding theory, building essay skills, or preparing for exams. I know that learning can feel difficult or frustrating at times, especially when the content does not feel relevant or engaging. My approach is all about making Sociology interesting and easier to connect with. I take the time to understand what each student enjoys and then shape lessons around those interests. Whether you are into true crime, pop culture, current events, or social media, I will find ways to link these topics to the subject so that it feels more accessible and enjoyable.
I have not worked as a tutor before, but I have plenty of experience helping classmates during my degree. I am confident in explaining complex ideas in a clear and simple way, and I am always patient and understanding.

I have been in love with playing the flute since I was eight years old. I have played the flute for over fourteen years and plan to do so for many more! I have taught the flute as a self-employed teacher for two years. I can play and teach a wide variety of genres, but I excel at teaching baroque music. I can also learn music by ear and can teach you almost any songs that you want, especially those you hear on the radio, movies, or www.*** shows! I can teach at a leisurely speed, help you pick up your confidence in yourself as a musician, and I can also adhere to strict schedules and help you prepare for difficult examinations. With a vast amount of experience working in a variety of schools and education settings, I have over 14 years of experience, with 10 of those working as a teacher and tutor. Specialising in Primary Maths, I work with small groups of children to increase their confidence and skill level through exam preparation and strategy led learning.
I have been teaching since 2006 across Yorkshire and Staffordshire, to a variety of age groups and abilities and in a variety of settings; from community groups to sixth-form colleges. Now I have returned to my roots in Doncaster, where I began performing at the age of 7 years and founded DN4 Dance & Theatre in 2019. In addition to a BA Hons in Dance and PGCE (PCET), I have a background in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre and is a registered teacher with BBOdance (British Ballet Organisation). When I'm not teaching, I work closely with local Theatre groups and on a professional basis, acting, singing and providing choreography for events/productions. Over my experience in working in FE, I have successfully supported many of my students in their application process to Higher Education and Drama school; selecting and rehearsing monologues for audition and preparing UCAS application. Some of my former students are currently studying at ALRA and UCLAN and I have also successfully helped students gain entry to Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge.
While my recent formal experience has been with FE students and above, I have taught students from the age of 5 through to university level on a wide range of topics. Areas of study include; Physical Theatre (from Dance-based to Commedia dell'Arte), Shakespeare, Contemporary Theatre, Prose.
A general lesson will include a short warm-up (either skills or focus based) prior to the main content; breaking down a script/choreography, rehearsal, feedback and discussion based on learning taken place and next steps. I try to make lessons as practical as I can, dependent on the material that we are working with and the end result required.
