I started tutoring alongside my studies in 2006. I've always found immense satisfaction in those lightbulb moments when someone struggling with a concept finally gets it. Science and especially chemistry is full of abstract ideas and often young people need that extra support from someone who can break it down to just the right level or explain in a way that it makes sense to them. I have a strong grasp on the curriculum and I adapt my teaching according to the needs of the pupils to ensure progress.

Selecting the right tutor is an important choice to make for any parent or carer- does the tutor teach the subject? Are they an examiner in that subject? How experienced are they? These are the questions I ask when I look for support for my own children.

I have taught Economics and Business Studies at both GCSE and A-Level for 23 years within the state sector, holding a range of positions: Head of Department, Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher. For 22 of those years I have examined in both subjects for UK & International examination boards at a senior level. This includes the International Economics papers for students who study the subject around the world and the Singapore A-Level papers - set solely for students of that country. I have delivered training to teachers on behalf of examination boards and asked to support schools develop their teaching of the subject. Before training to teach, I worked within the UK Government Economic Service and a City of London Investment firm. I have Qualified Teacher Status and hold an up to date fully enhanced DBS certificate

I have over forty years' experience of private tuition to students aged 2 to adult. I have taught maths and English to all ages, including preparing students for entrance exams. I also teach science up to KS3. I have worked with those for whom English is not their first language, to help them improve their skills. Hi, I'm Maanya and I am a Biomedical Science student at Lancaster University. I was tutored when I was younger and I would love to help you the way I was helped because it really participated a lot in my academic growth as a child and helping people is something I love to do in my free time or whenever. I have tutored children during lockdown online and in person after lockdown in maths english and even science and I am even a Grade 3 internationally certified yoga teacher and helped children and adults of all ages all around the world through yoga by teaching both the physical and the theory side of it. I have even taught indian classical dance to children for a while so teaching and caring for kids is something I am experienced in and love to do. Not only that, I am on the path of becoming a doctor, hopefully a paediatrician so helping and caring for kids is something I'd also love to make a career out of it.
