MY STORY
I am currently a grade-one “outstanding” teacher in my present school, and have been delivering KS3, GCSE and A Level English, Maths and History in the secondary and sixth-form sectors for the past 16 years, in which time my results have far surpassed national pass rates. Moreover, due to these outstanding results and innovative teaching methods, I have served as Assistant Head of Department; helping us to be awarded an internal grade 1 “outstanding” rating for the 6 years in which I held the post. Furthermore, I also have extensive experience as an “Advanced Practitioner”-tasked with turning around failing cohorts in some of the UK’s toughest classrooms, as well as my time as an examiner for a variety of GCSE/A Level exam boards.
Moreover, due to this long history of being a stand-out professional in the education sector, my advice has been sought out for occasional media and radio appearances for discussions on educational policy, whilst also being head-hunted to tutor the children of prominent public figures including Premiership footballers, Olympic athletes, luminaries of the business world, and even the family of a Nobel Prize winner for a month-which was awesome!
Furthermore, in also being an accomplished property developer with my own UK real-estate portfolio and honorary co-founder of a former property company alongside my partner, I have acted as a business mentor to Year 11 students on entrepreneurship, and how to begin their own journey in property investment, which has seen me guide some of the UK’s brightest new generation of business leaders.
In my remaining spare time, I am currently engaged in the pre-reading for the start of my future PHD in International Relations, during which I will be studying the geopolitics of any superpower conflict over Taiwan. Furthermore, I enjoy travelling extensively in our second home of Tuscany with my young family, supporting Manchester United, playing the drums, and playing the PlayStation (although not as much as I used to, these days!)

TUTORING EXPERIENCE
I have a broad range of experience turning around struggling students in some of the UK’s toughest classrooms, as well as challenging high achieving learners in the pursuit of academic excellence. In my teaching and tutoring career thus far, I have taught across the curriculum age-ranges (7-18 years), as well as undergraduate and postgraduate level students, and specialise in teaching troubled learners lacking confidence, whilst pushing very bright pupils.
Since I began teaching at my institution, English pass-rates received a 25% upwards leap in the opening two years and my tutoring pass grades in my subjects of English, maths and history have been outstanding, so that the vast majority of my classes/tutees are now passing with strong academic grades, and attaining entry to prestigious preparatory schools and/or universities. During last academic year, my tutees enjoyed superb results in English, Maths, History and the 11+, with 96% reaching their target minimum grade, and 68% exceeding this mark, entering prestigious institutions such as the University of Durham, University of Heidelburg and Bromsgrove School, as well as world-class employers such as Rolls Royce. Therefore, over my career as a “super-tutor” so far, I am proud to have delivered over 15,000 lessons across 1000 students within 32 countries, from the UK to Hong Kong.
I also have considerable mentoring expertise, in having built my own UK property portfolio currently valued at £2.75 million from scratch, I have mentored many adult and teenage entrants into property investing, guiding their purchases and renovations to the overall value of £14 million, and counting. In addition to this, I have also been an informal mentor to UK gang members, tasked with persuading them to their back on lives of criminality, and embrace the transformative potential of education, which has been among the most rewarding roles of my career thus far.

TUTORING APPROACH
Besides enjoying superb results, my pupils benefit from a relaxed yet challenging atmosphere, with high commitment being expected of them and this has shown to bring both personal and academic growth, which is always pleasing to see. Moreover, in strengthening self-esteem and exciting the minds of my students, to equip them with the skills they need to excel in later life, I seek to provide them with only the finest education possible.
In terms of my lesson delivery, I always strive to be on the cutting-edge of education in use of teaching resources and methods. Therefore, my approach to tutoring makes use of the techniques of “blended learning”, utilising advanced video-conferencing software, modern presentational packages such as Prezi, powerful virtual learning environments and resourced by well-known educational companies, all supported by online platforms provided by GCSE Bitesize, amongst others. This constant innovation was perhaps best illustrated by my recent use of computer games as a learning tool, which led to some of my classes’ GCSE English creative writing being utilised by exam boards as exemplars to share across the UK, in which they were inspired by video games such as Halo and Mass Effect to attain grade 9s.
In light of this dedication to using Smart tech to deliver a first-class education, throughout my teaching career in inner-city schools and sixth-forms, I have become known for never leaving any learner behind, whilst using creative methods in covering the curriculum in an accessible and enjoyable way.

I derive my goals of the learning process from Bloom’s Taxonomy and concentrate on the combined areas of Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. By addressing each of these pillars I feel the pupil is able to acquire a complete understanding of the subject matter. This develops a higher form of education focusing on analysing and interpreting rather than just remembering facts.
As part of the learning process I find it helpful to engage with and encourage parents to participate in their child’s education and have found this to have a positive effect.
Assessment is an integral part of my lesson preparation. My experience of marking Key Stage 3 & 4 theory and practical work using the formative assessment technique and learning dialogue has meant I am able to focus on educational needs. Learning is a journey and if a check is kept on students’ learning by identifying ‘What went well’ and ‘How to improve’ they perform better. I regularly ask students to keep a record of their thoughts and how they hope to act on my comments. I use students’ grades for target setting during plenary sessions.
As I have matured in my approach to teaching, the knowledge and understanding I have developed has naturally become part of my practice. One such example is using the Every Child Matter outcomes in planning a ‘Fruit Salad’ lesson: using seasonal fruits to stay healthy; awareness of health and safety with cutting/chopping; enjoying the preparation and feeling achievement when taking home a tasty fruit salad; contributing positively as part of a team; and using home ingredients to keep simple and costs low.
From the extra-curricular perspective I like to play a full and active part in the school’s life. I encourage teacher-student relationship-building exercises and one such example was a trip to Laser Quest. Although a fun day out and reward for hard work, the trip had the important objective of developing the student/teacher rapport. This excursion was kept within the boundaries of health and safety and the policies of the School.
I am constantly reassessing myself and working to develop personally and professionally and so I regularly attend after school meetings. To update my health and safety practices I completed the DATA safety course. In order to acquire additional knowledge of the UK’s attitude to food I attended the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health course on Food Safety and the Licence to Cook course. I have gained proficiency in Information Technology (IT) through completing the Computer Literacy and Information Technology and the European Computer Driving Licence courses. I use these skills in IT to make my lessons more visually appealing and stimulating to pupils who now are proficient with graphics and computers. At Hans Price Academy I have used Corel draw 12, Creo, illustrator and Pro desk top 8 softwares in my key stage 3 Product Design lessons and generate plan schemes of work for my Key stage 4 COPE group – Food and Catering based on healthy eating. Through my background I have introduced various multicultural cooking in my food lessons too.
Through my passion for Design and Technology I have developed a literacy, Stage 3 booklet which will help students to attain higher levels. I also run a series of extra curricular after school salt dough modelling and photo editing workshops. These have been met with great enthusiasm and attended by students across the whole school. I have taken part and encouraged fun day initiatives which include house musicals and leading on assemblies.
I believe teaching to be a vocation and am willing to contribute and support the team and go the extra mile. A teacher must strive to bring out sensitively the best in pupils, parents, oneself, colleagues and the school itself. It is the collective responsibility of all users of the school to improve the environment as a place of learning. The role of a good school is to provide a learning environment where pupils are keen and happy to attend whilst enjoying learning on a daily basis. I have trained food assistants and NQT to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils by setting high expectations in practical sessions. My plan for a session is always to initially to draw attention to the health and safety issues in the practical sessions and follow-up with the learning objectives.
I use an interactive style with my pupils so they are able to ask questions so as to feel comfortable and understand what is required of them in a safe and stimulating environment. During sessions I interact with the pupils, and encourage my Teacher assistant and NQT to do the same, so as to mentally stretch and stimulate the pupil in order to maximise their potential during these learning exercises.
I have been able to show and explain to the colleague how to plan and make the Literacy based project booklets. How to assess the progress of the students during that session how to explain clarify the misconceptions in order to make a memorable experience for the students.
I am able to create stimulating environment with mutual respect , e.g. from the start of lessons students clearly knows their targets and their current levels, they are clearly explained through detailed and effective tracker system, what they need to be focusing on to achieve higher grades. I always try to share the bigger picture to students in timely manner.
I collaboratively work with other colleagues and contributed through effective Professional Development coaching sessions. Based on development and implementation of various coaching strategies that lead to good progress and outcomes. I try to met regularly on fortnight to discuss and exchange notes and try the strategies in lessons.

My Priority always has been for students to achieve good grades and progress in life is always , E.g the non- attenders and vulnerable students in my Year groups whose attendance was below 70%. By collaboratively working with College leaders, mentors, Head of department and ELT, I arranged catchup sessions in lunch,break and afterschool time for them to motivate and build positive relationship with them which lead them to complete and achieve reasonable good grades especially in GCSE.
I have been actively moderating the GCSE Food Preparation course work with senior members of CLF federation. Which greatly help to understand and help students to achieve good grades in course work.
On other hand I collaboratively worked with SENCO of Schools to offer students the experience of doing cooking practical and learning new skills in a secure and friendly environment. All students had various individual complex behaviour needs, I was able to build good relationships and offer memorable experience to them. They were able to adapt to the situation and behaved very well. I am also have been the active member of the school engage centre, to support and teach 1-2-1 sessions to students identified with special requirements, such as teaching DT sessions and cooking practices for the ones who missed out regular lessons and EAL to build bridges to overcome language barrier, especially year 11 students in order to help them at least achieve level 1 for college course.

My current role is a Year 2 class teacher, however I have taught children from Nursery up to Year 6 as a cover teacher too.
I took part in the Government led school tutoring program, where I tutored 3 children from Year 2 in Writing. This has deepened my experience further, especially when assisting children to achieve the best they can.
I have carried out and planned for many 1:1 or group interventions in Maths and English to assist with our school's Covid catch-up program.
I want to build a good rapport with my pupils, a relationship that is fun, respectful and honest.
It's all about adapting the learning to the pupil and making them feel that they are in control of their learning too. Having a good sense of humour always helps too!

The difference between a ‘good’ student and a so- called ‘ struggling’ student is confidence and focus. I will help you with both, and then with my subject knowledge and patience and encouragement, you will soon be on a winning streak!
I will also show you the science behind how the brain learns and stores things in it's memory, so that you can work with it in the most efficient way, rather than learning something in one class and then forgetting it by the next.
I have attended several workshops, and now deliver workshops, designed by the NHS, on Motivation, and How the Brain works etc. I was an excellent student at school, but also went through a period of ill health at University when I fell behind in my work so I know how it feels - I have good empathy and will help you to regain your confidence and to prioritize your tasks and feel less overwhelmed. I currently hold the post of Director of Learning and Standards for Art and Design as well as Design and Food Technology at a large secondary school in Sandwell. I have guided students to achieve at examination level, partcularly pushing high level outcomes (grade 8's and 9's) for GCSE art and design courses as well as BTEC level 2 and 3 courses. I can also support in the development of portfolios for College or University applications and interviews. I am a lead internal verifier for BTEC and have recently started training to become a standards verifier. I have previosuly taken groups which had a pass rate of 67% A*-C to 88% A*-C within 2 terms as a result of my dedicated teaching. In addition to preparing students for examinations I have experience of preparing students for GCSE courses at KS3, working on drawing skills and exploring materials and media regardless of starting point.
I have been teaching for 6 years.
I have taught BTEC sport at KS4 and KS5 for 6 years. I am also subject lead for KS5 BTEC Sport.
I have extensive knowledge of the internal and external units and the grading criteria for each.
