Hello and welcome to Connect Maths Tutor. I am Viviane D. and a qualified Secondary Maths teacher of 14 years. I have considerable experience in supporting students across KS3 and preparing students to sit KS4 Maths GCSE 9-1 specification Higher/foundation.
Having acquired substantial experience of working with a significant range of students and abilities, I understand fully the barriers to learning in Maths. I can therefore advise on areas where common misconceptions occur, showing alternative methods to answer popular topics and advise on exam techniques.
I now tutor one to one with students in order that I can make a real difference to their confidence and performance in Maths. At times this can be difficult to achieve in a classroom environment. My tutoring style is both structured, relaxed and supportive. I will establish early on a student's individual proficiency so that they are educated at an adapted and bespoke level.
I offer online tuition or group tuition at a reduced rate for similar ability students. I also hold a current enhanced DBS certificate. I currently have a few available slots to start immediately. I have 34 years of teaching experience, initially in English and Drama and then, from 2008 in Psychology. I also write Psychology textbooks, run workshops for students and teachers and I have extensive experience of one-to-one tutoring.
I am a Bioanalytical Scientist with a Bachelor's degree in Human and Medical science and therefore have a very good understanding of Biology and Chemistry. Furthermore I have 6 months experience as a substitute teacher and a year's experience as a TEFL teacher. I have always enjoyed Sciences, English and Urdu language and feel they have always been my greatest academic skills. Due to my passion for the subjects and great understanding, I have been able to make them simpler and easier to understand for all my fellow peers ans siblings in the past. I hope to bring these skills and passion in use with my students as well. I am happy to help children of all levels from KS1 to A-levels who are struggling or need extra motivation. I am happy to modify the class as per student needs. Depending on student specification and weak topics I can plan lessons to suit individual style of learning by either providing extra supprt and material or by going over the topic again to make it simpler and easier to understand. Through my experience in labs I will use real life examples and videos, wherever possible to help my students with their curriculum. I can teach KS1 - A-levels for science and Urdu and will provide one to one support to each student to ensure a good experience and learning I am happy to provide tuition online or from my home. I'm fluent in Spanish, ( my native language) French, and English and have spent many years teaching and studying languages. I completed a bachelor's degree in Spanish and English at Manchester/ALmeria University (2008) and studied Spanish and English Literature in school (GCSE and A-Level) so I know how daunting grammar can sometimes feel and how stressful language/literature exams can be... but also how great it feels when you finally start getting it!

I have taught these exams for many years so I know how they work and how you can do well in them. We will work closely with the syllabus and go through some secrets of exam technique to make sure you get a top grade.
Alternatively, if you're wanting to learn languages for travel or business purposes (or just for fun!) we can tailor the lessons 100% to suit your needs. I also teach courses to adults from beginners to advanced and I always tailored to each student's need. I also teach English to foreigners to achieve the Cambridge Examinations ( A1 to C1).
I effectively deliver and plan online outstanding lessons and the feedback that I have received from parents, pupils, and adult learners have always been very stimulating. I strongly believe in the student centered-approach as always shown in my lesson plans. I believe that all students are individuals with very specific needs so differentiation has always been at the forefront of my teaching practice. I find it very important to address any students’ needs in order to get the best potential out of every single student. I am successful in establishing high expectations of behavior in the classroom whilst still developing positive relationships with my classes.
I love online teaching as well as face to face. I have been doing online experience for the last 5 years and I have helped most of my students to achieve an excellent language level. I use Google Meets, Google Classroom, or even Skype for online teaching. I generally send and post great, fun, and genuine resources so that the student can access them easily and successfully. There are so many fun online resources that I could provide you to enhance your language skills, especially in Speaking; what a great way to speak the language with a native speaker! You will also gain a broad cultural awareness and your fluency and pronunciation will speed up!
