With over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring at A Level, I have developed a wealth of resources and techniques for optimising exam grades.
My priority as a tutor is developing exam technique and providing students with the best methods for maximising their grades.
My sessions tend to focus on past papers, mark schemes, essay structure and working together to figure out the most effective strategies for achieving the highest grades possible.
I also want to help forge a lifelong love of the subject, and find ways to make psychology relevant to my students' lives.

I have got years of experience educating children. My teaching methods are student centered and adaptable to different learning styles. I begin by assessing each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning preferences through initial conversations and diagnostic activities. Based on this, I tailor lesson plans to meet their individual needs. I use a mix of visual aids, practice problems, real-life examples, and interactive questioning to keep sessions engaging and effective. I believe I am a perfect tutor because I combine subject expertise with a deep commitment to helping students succeed. I don’t just teach—I listen, adapt, and connect. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to fit their individual needs, whether they require step-by-step explanations, visual aids, practice exercises, or simply more encouragement and confidence. What sets me apart is my patience, empathy, and dedication. I never rush the learning process and always create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I celebrate small victories and help students see their progress, which builds motivation and self-esteem. In addition to strong communication skills, I bring a positive attitude and a genuine passion for education. I see tutoring not just as a job, but as an opportunity to make a real impact in someone’s life. I work hard to ensure that my students not only understand the material but also gain the skills to become independent, confident learners. My strong academic background, combined with practical teaching experience, allows me to break down complex concepts clearly and effectively. I’m organised, reliable, and always prepared to meet students at their level, helping them grow from where they are to where they want to be. Ultimately, I care deeply about my students’ success. That dedication, along with my personalised approach and ability to connect with learners, is why I believe I’m the perfect tutor.

After achieving QTS in 1999, I taught in several primary schools for five years, covering all ages (from Nursery to Year 6) and a wide range of abilities (from working towards level 1 up to level 6), in the full range of core and foundation subjects. However, having a predominantly financial/ numerical background, I decided to focus my teaching on mathematics and commenced teaching mathematics in secondary schools from September 2004, covering a wide range of abilities from below NC level 3 to GCSE Higher level.
From May 2007 to August 2019, I was employed by Kip McGrath (Keighley), tutoring students (during evenings and on Saturdays) in Maths (aged 6 to 18 years, at KS1 level up to GCSE Higher level), English (aged 6 to 11 years, at KS1 &2) and in verbal and non-verbal reasoning, in preparation for 11+ High School Entrance Exams. This involved supporting students in small groups working on individual, predominantly computer-based, learning programmes, to enable them to catch-up or improve their skills in specific areas, whilst working towards their personal targets/ goals, e.g. in KS2 SATs, 11+ Entrance Exams or GCSE exams. This experience inspired me to set up my own private tutoring business, which I have been running since April 2014, providing tuition to individual students in maths (aged 7 – 18+), English (ages 7-13), preparing students (aged 9/12) for local High School Entrance Exams and preparing adult learners for Functional Skills exams in both Literacy and Numeracy.
Having studied many courses covering a wide range of disabilities, including ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder, I believe I have a good understanding of, and empathy for, students with SEND and SEMH. To this end, I have taught many students with a range of learning difficulties/ barriers to learning and feel that I have made a considerable difference to each student’s enjoyment of mathematics and life-outcomes. I believe that my own enjoyment of learning enables me to encourage and motivate others to successfully engage in the learning process.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I have delivered many lessons via Skype and Zoom and feel that I have become confident and competent in using these platforms for teaching students remotely and would be happy to continue to do so if required.

I'm a dedicated and warm biology teacher with a solid academic background in life sciences specialized in Botany and Human biology. I graduated in Botany from Gauhati University and I've had experience preparing students for boards. I'm pursuing Mastes in Plant science and Biotechnology from University of Leeds.
My pedagogy is interactive, student-centered, and customized to specific learning requirements. I emphasize developing a strong conceptual framework through diagrams, examples from real life, and frequent practice. In classes, I typically start with a brief review of past material, present new concepts in a concise manner, and get the students involved through questions and discussions. I also include frequent testing, homework support, and test-taking tips for performance enhancement and confidence building.
Whether you need help with understanding basic biology concepts, preparation for competitive exams, or improvement of school grades, I work to create a friendly and effective study environment that encourages curiosity and proficiency.
