Online Special needs EFL/ESOL Lessons
I am a qualified Teacher trained in the UK with 25 years’ teaching experience across a variety of ages and stages within the state school system. I particularly trained as a language specialist working throughout schools supporting my colleagues as an ELP (Early and Primary Language Professional). I have as a result of my accountancy training and additional post graduate learning developed an acute knowledge and awareness of mathematical foundations (that develop mathematical reasoning) and methodology, which I use to further my students mathematical excellence. I pride myself on my ability to identify and resolve students' difficulties, helping them to 'get unstuck' by teaching them the missing skills they need to become competent, independent and enthusiastic learners. Whatever their starting point, I can support them in their journey by providing them with the necessary tools to get them where they want to be. I am additionally an experienced Tutor who has been tutoring both face to face and online closing gaps in children’s learning by ensuring their foundational learning is intact and moving their learning forward so that if their goal is to take independent schools tests or the 11 plus they have the tools to do so.
Additionally I have for the past 2 years been teaching ESL/ESOL, supporting all ages and stages to pass their English Language tests (as well as maths), including Functional Skills and Cambridge tests.

Additionally, I integrate videos into my lessons to make learning more dynamic and relatable. These audiovisual resources create a more immersive learning experience, allowing students to engage with English in a natural way.
My teaching methods have led to remarkable success, particularly with children. Many of my young students have gained confidence in their English abilities whether this may reading, writing or speaking . As a result, they actively participate in class, express their thoughts more freely, and develop a genuine love for learning English. Their progress is evident in their academic performance, with many achieving high grades and excelling in their studies. A completely innovative and extraordinary role with the duties of a lead Kindergarten teacher in the Bi-lingual ‘C-BAN’ learning a mixture of Chinese, US, British and Singaporean curriculum in a special programme - at the time available only to Non-Chinese Nationals within this Private Chinese School. With three classes, C-Ban was in its infancy with few resources, no organisational structure and much innovation and initiative were required. I introduced and demonstrated the 'radical' concept of child-centred education. I created a reading library of hundreds of new books, with no support funding or training. I introduced the concept and the reality of integrating Educational Support Professionals, such as Educational Psychologists to support students. I introduced the soft carpet /soft furnishings area with the eager help of parents. I modernised the classroom layout away from the 'rows of desks' approach. Now there are twelve classes (- and a library). They have ‘modernised’ and now thrive.
