Welcome to East Midlands Drum Tuition, a place to learn, have fun and develop as a drummer. My name is Tom W. (Ba Hons Music and Qualified Teacher, QTS qualification) and I have been teaching for 20 years. As well as teaching drums, I am also a qualified classroom music teacher so you can be confident that your lessons will be professional and taught by an experienced and qualified teacher.

I offer high quality drum tuition for all ages and abilities. Whether you are learning for fun, wanting to complete grades or an experienced drummer wanting to develop your skills.
One to one lessons and group lessons available. Home lessons available. Weekly and fortnightly lessons welcomed. All styles covered and video lessons available if you are a long distance learner.

Online lessons are a great way to learn the drums in the comfort of your own home. Lessons are conducted from our drum studio using acoustic drums that are captured using multiple professional microphones and then mixed through Logic Pro, giving the student very high-quality audio. Before the lesson, you will receive an email with any materials required such as PDF's and worksheets. Andrew Jays School of Music is a family run music school covering Surrey and South London. Our Principle, Andrew, graduated from The BRIT Performaing Arts and Technology College (Jessie J, Adele, Any Winehouse are past students) and is also a performing solo singer. We are pround to have passionate and talented teachers working alongside us, so our students also gain knowledge from their performance experience.
We hold exams with ABRSM and Trinity College London of which we have a 100% pass rate!

I teach to all ages, up to Grade 8 on the Drums, Grade 4 on the Guitar and on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, but not through the grading system as I only teach basic level sight reading for Piano.
I have taught many students over the years at varying ages and skill levels, and all have come out more passionate and more improved at there instrument.
My students have all mentioned how they find there lessons thoroughly productive and enjoyable, finding themselves increasingly motivated to play after having lessons with me. (see references at the bottom)
In my lessons I will take the students up through the Grades (ONLY for Drums and Guitar), via Rockschool, teaching them everything they need from technique, learning how to sight read, developing improvisation skills, playing in many different genres of music, and how to play by ear. I will also cover how to complement the music you are playing to and how to serve the music. As well as developing musicianship skills and how to have the right attitude in the music business.
- on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, going through everything listed above, as well as scales, arpeggios, inversions, learning classical and contemporary pieces, and basic level sight reading, but NOT grades unfortunately.

Hi All!
I am Marty, I am the Owner/Director and one of the tutors at Double M Studios.
I decided to launch DMS due to the passion I have for music and to make it a platform to be able to offer opportunities to students and adult learners that they may not be able to get anywhere else.
Music has been part of my life for a very long time. I was lucky enough to have two of the most amazing guitar tutors that anybody could have asked for. One of which became a very big inspiration for what I am doing now.
