I am an enthusiastic and dedicated languages teacher looking to help all those requiring language tuition in London and online.
I come from a trilingual family and have spoken Spanish, Portuguese and English since childhood. I studied languages as part of my undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds, obtaining a first class BA in History with Spanish and Portuguese.
After a decade working in law, I returned to my language roots and qualified as a languages teacher in 2018. I taught Spanish for three years to London secondary school students, focusing on GCSE and A Level exam preparation. I also worked additionally as a Portuguese GCSE speaking examiner during exam season, something which I continue to do today. In 2021, I finally decided to focus full-time on my private tutoring career as a Spanish and Portuguese language tutor.
Whether you're looking for formal public exam preparation or a tutor to practise everyday conversational skills with, I'm ready to help. My hour-long lessons are designed to be an open and encouraging space in which students can practise and improve their language skills. I work to ensure that they are fun, interactive and as light-hearted as possible while always focused intently on my students' learning needs. What sets me apart is that I tailor my sessions to each individual student's particular strengths, goals and interests to ensure maximum engagement.
I am passionate about languages and the cultures in which they are spoken. As well as helping you reach the level of proficiency you’re aiming for, I hope that my sessions will inspire you to really fall in love with Spanish and Portuguese and want to use them further in the future!

Hi everyone!
I am a Spanish native speaker from Cadiz, Andalusia, living and teaching in London for more than 5 years now. I started teaching Spanish as a private tutor and, since 2017, I work in a well-known and sucessful independent school in London, NLCS.
My experience in this school as well as my studies at University back me up to guarentee meaningful and well prepared Spanish lessons, focusing on the concrete specification that the student is doing at school, since I am familiar with all of them.
As the situation is not suitable for 1-2-1 lessons in person, I am ofering them online. My IT skills and experience teaching online in the summer term in my school allows me to say that I can offer the same quality of lessons that will help you to achieve your goals.
I look forward to hearing from you.
All best,
Carmen

I currently teach French and Spanish from year 6 to 11 at an independent school, after training as a teacher in 2015. I have also been a private tutor to pre-GCSE, GCSE and A-level students for 3 years.
I am passionate about languages and have a keen interest in the theory of language aquisition.
In my one-to-one sessions, I taylor my method and materials to suit students' learning styles and personal objectives. So far, I have been taking on private tutees through word of mouth, but having had to deliver their sessions online due to Covid 19, I have explored how to use online resources to develop online tutoring sessions effectively.
This summer, I can offer small group online workshops to focus on particular skills or specific language structure issues. These would be best suited to students using laptops, rather than tablets, and would be using zoom, an application called www.*** and possibly collaboration sites such as Google drive and office 365.
Minimum number of participants: 2 / Maximum. 5.
Cost - £20/60 mins session (Some workshops can be 4 or 5 sessions long, and the cost for the entire workshop must be paid upfront)
Workshops topics (please message me to express interest or ask for further information - I am also open to developping new sessions on particular needs so don't hesitate to message your requirements):
Photo descriptions (GCSE skills) with a focus on adjective agreement/ verbs in the present / prepositions for location. (AVAILABLE IN BOTH FRENCH AND SPANISH) - pre-GCSE level / y10 higher level / y11 foundation level.
GCSE role play skills - suitable for y10 and 11 students (AVAILABLE IN BOTH FRENCH AND SPANISH).
GCSE translation skills - suitable for y10 (with a predicted level 7 to 9) and 11 students (AVAILABLE IN BOTH FRENCH AND SPANISH).
Describing people and relationships - focus on adjective agreement, and standard structures to develop a level of complexity. (AVAILABLE IN FRENCH) - pre-GCSE level / y10 higher level / y11 foundation level.
Hobbies - Developping accuracy and confidence in using 'to play' and 'to do' structures accurately - pre-GCSE level / y10 higher level / y11 foundation level. (AVAILABLE IN BOTH FRENCH AND SPANISH)
Holidays - Developping vocabulary on the topic of holidays / Practising answers in three tenses / Using the perfect (French) / Preterit (Spanish) and imperfect tense effectively. Revising quesiton words. - suitable for y10 and 11 students (AVAILABLE IN BOTH FRENCH AND SPANISH)

Thank you for giving me this opportunity; let me describe myself as motivated, diligent, and disciplined, someone who enjoys working with others to achieve challenging tasks and projects. I have used these skills to motivate my students by quickly teaching complex tasks, so they can be creative and be prepared for the global future. I was working as an English teacher in South America and had been teaching English as a foreign language for almost two years; currently working in Oxford and Cheltenham, UK, teaching English as a Foreign Language; my background is as an operational business manager, but I had discovered the enjoyment for teaching during the pandemic crisis, this has given me an excellent opportunity to discover the Ability to teach and share the beautiful things of sharing my knowledge with others.
I possess the knowledge needed to teach and personal experience teaching abroad; I have studied subjects related to teaching Grammar, Vocabulary, Speaking and writing, listening and reading, concepts about inclusion and its importance in teaching: equality and equity, and barriers. Develop skills in personal reflection as a transition to becoming an independent, qualified teacher. Applying strategies to manage workload, performative pressures, and gain support to survive as a new teacher—blended learning using technology to teach.
