I studied classical vocal technique for 15 years with Howard Milner, and supplemented this with private language training (French and Russian), repertoire coaching with Floral Opera, Summer International Summer Music school (four years) and further training with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. I worked as Area Leader for Sing Up in Lincolnshire and am currently the visiting singing teacher for a large secondary academy in Nottingham as well as being a vocal tutor at University of Lincoln. I have performed in professional opera companies in the UK, and performed recitals and gala concerts throughout the UK and in Northern Italy. I teach classical styles, as well as music theatre, jazz, folk, pop/rock.
I graduated a with a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Birmingham, and can tutor chemistry, physics and mathematics in addition to music.

As a vocal coach and performer, I’m here to help you make the most of your potential. I fell in love with singing from a very early age and began my journey learning about musical theatre, and later moving to folk, rock and other contemporary styles. I have been singing and performing in theatre productions as well as in bands for over 30 years – and I’ve loved every exhilarating minute of it! My goal is to inspire a new generation of talented vocalists to perform with confidence and joy.
For the last six years, I have been sharing what I’ve learned to eager students passionate about singing. I love helping my students to release their voices and become the rock star performers they were born to be. I cater to all musical styles and genres and I love teaching students from many backgrounds. Through our sessions, you will learn techniques and tips that help you to become established as a powerful singer with your own personal style. I love watching my students transform from nervous would-be performers to fearlessly taking over a stage and commanding an audience with a remarkable voice. Our sessions will be lively, energetic, and rooted in authenticity. We will move at a pace that’s comfortable with you and I will ensure that you have a good grasp of the foundational techniques before we progress to the next level. I am an Oxford graduate (Worcester College), with a degree in Literae Humaniores - Latin and Greek language and literature, as well as ancient and modern philosophy (BA 2013, MA 2016) I am also a professional classical singer and conductor, active around the UK. I am a Lay Vicar at Chichester Cathedral, where I sing professionally with the cathedral choir. Friendly, approachable, and professional, I am passionate about teaching and helping people to develop their knowledge and skills.

My language teaching is based on the way in which classical languages are taught at Oxford, and I believe in the development both of analytical language skills and an instinct for the art of translation. For GCSE and A-Level, it is important for vocabulary and grammar to be secure, so I encourage a rigorous approach to language, but one that is interesting. I ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with an enthusiastic, patient, and understanding tutor, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil. It is vital to tailor sessions to the student, and I customise my lessons for each student I have based on their needs.

I've been working as a live musician, recording artist, session singer, songwriter, producer and studio coach for many signed recording artists including Fabbio (Universal Music). I have an extensive vocal training by renowned professionals both in the UK and Spain such as: Clarissa Land, David Phillips, Ian Davidson, Lee Loo, Helen Rowson, Miguel Manzo, and Yasmina Azlor. TECHNIQUE
You'll learn vocal technique in an understandable way that can be felt and controlled. I designed a technique course from my own experience after years of study, and teaching 100+ singers. The best knowledge from Estill Voice Training (EVT), Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) and Speech Level Singing (SLS) will be imparted.
You will realise that your whole body is involved in singing and you'll notice the drastic changes that make the proper understanding of larynx movements, breathing, posture, jaw, tongue, among others.
I will always make sure that you sing in a healthy way and never hurt your voice. No doubts will be left unresolved!
STYLE / ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT
As you develop technique, we can work on defining your voice and musical style. We will improve the timbre and we will work on different stylistic resources and effects such as vibrato. We will identify and enhance the best of your voice, and we will work and develop new skills.
REPERTOIRE AND PERFORMANCE
We will tackle the songs you want to work on and you'll notice a big improvement as we work on them. You'll apply what we have learned and I'll identify problems that arise when singing your chosen music. If you want to record them professionally with quality sound, we will do it with my resources. (I am a professional producer).
ADDITIONAL SKILLS: SONGWRITING, PRODUCTION AND PIANO
Depending on your objectives, we can work on other musical aspects. Many students compose and want to learn more tools and tricks to compose more freely. Others want to accompany themselves on the piano better. I am also an active songwriter and composer, I learned from experts such as Paul Statham (Warner Chapell: Kylie Minogue, Dido). I am also a pianist. I can help you and give you the most practical tools to create music, sing it, and make work. Classes always have the option to add a dedicated piano extension, or songwriting and music theory, or production.
