Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.

I have been teaching Science in the UK for the last 26 years and have tutored as well for the three years. I have been an examiner for Edexcel for the last 6 years. I have been a Head of Science. I am UK trained and qualified and have been DBS checked. I have a lot experience working with SEND students and always look to support young people to do their best. I have taught all three Sciences and Maths to GCSE and Biology to A-level for 26 years. I am passionate about my subjects and really enjoy teaching and helping my students. I have a thorough knowledge of both Edexcel and AQA for GCSE and have effectively taught for both exam boards. I have taught both OCR and Edexcel for A-level Biology. I have been an Examiner for Edexcel for GCSE Physics for the past 6 years.
I work using a variety of resources to engage students in their learning. I always strive to find what works best for your learning style.
I have been tutoring online for the last 3 years and really enjoy engaging with students using all the technologies that are now available.
Some references from parents:
"My son is currently taking his GCSEs, and I have worked with him on the content of this reference; we both want to start by saying that we cannot recommend Sharon more highly as a science tutor.
As a parent, Sharon is extremely easy to work with – our communications, whether in writing or talking, are very clear and professional but importantly also very reassuring, as you instantly feel you’re in safe and experienced hands.
Sharon was able to quickly assess my son’s gaps in learning and form a plan to cover all three science subjects. Since he has been working with Sharon, I have seen my son’s confidence grow significantly. He looks forward to the lessons (even opting to have additional ones) as he values Sharon’s extensive subject knowledge and ability to be able to explain complicated topics and concepts clearly and patiently, but also repeatedly until he feels he has a full grasp. What I value is that throughout the lessons she ensures he communicates with her, answering questions, explaining his reasoning etc. in order to constantly check his understanding rather than 'taking his word for it' before moving on.
Without Sharon’s teaching and also her practical exam guidance he would not be entering his science GCSEs with his current level of confidence. We were incredibly lucky to find Sharon as it is rare to find a tutor with Sharon’s subject knowledge and level of teaching experience."
"*** grades were: Chem=6, Bio=5, Phys=5. He would not have achieved this without your tutoring."

Hi! Welcome to my page!
Who am I? My name is Devinder and I'm an online tutor. I love teaching and I hope you will be interested in the academic services I have to offer. My 5-star reviews can be read here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069584765662&sk=reviews HOW WOULD I BENEFIT AS A STUDENT? If you are a parent or carer, then your children can benefit from private lessons in English (up to KS2), Maths (up to GCSE), Science (GCSE), Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This way of learning would not only boost their confidence but also increase their results in 11+ entrance, SATs and GCSEs placing them ahead of their peers. Past pupils sitting their entrance exams have gone on to apply to their chosen schools and university with proven results. Students would have access to vast resources including a catalogue of at least 200 books full of techniques and past papers to help support and boost their education. Learners are offered a personalised tuition plan catered to their individual needs, goals and learning styles. Learners can expect to have their knowledge gaps identified and appropriate resources selected to help them close those specific gaps, in a caring yet challenging manner. Tuition is not a side hustle for me, it's my main vocation. Not only does that mean more attention for your child but also availability during daytime through school holidays or if you are based overseas. WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM YOUR LESSONS With +10,000 hours teaching experience, you can expect a lot. Firstly, there is a free consultation so you can assess whether we make a good fit. All lessons are prepared in advance to make the best use of tuition time. Curriculum-aligned material is taught, learners’ understanding is checked systematically, misconceptions identified accurately and clear and direct feedback is provided. In doing so, knowledge gaps are identified and content repeated to plug gaps where appropriate and embed learning. Common errors are shared to help student prevent making them in their practice and in their exams. I use a collaborative, interactive, online whiteboard which is free and simple for my students to use: no holding aloft shaky notepads aimed at the webcam. This allows me to watch and check students' understanding in real time. Unlike other tutors, I do not use Zoom/Google Meet or Teams. I subscribe to a special educator platform which has been rated 5-star by its users. Using the `I Do, You Do, We Do` model, students are told what they need to know and how to do it, then we work on a task together to help student become more confident with new learning and finally student individually uses what they have been shown to demonstrate proficiency using practice questions or repeating back to me what they have learned. EXAM PREPARATION STRATEGY Construct a solid foundation of knowledge Exam technique tips Practice (practice practice!) past papers in the weeks/months preceding exam SKILLS OFFERED Excellent, deep subject area knowledge of curricula Strong ability to explain concepts in clear and simple terms Engagement with students of assorted abilities and backgrounds QUALIFICATIONS I hold a Bsc (Hons) Biochemistry from a Russell Group University and a PgDip Analytical Chemistry. I spent the first two years of my university programme studying maths. I'm DBS checked and my qualifications and certificates are available for inspection.

Hi there,
*Phone - 07 eight eight 7 three 7 nine 1 3 7
My name is Akshar. I graduated with a First-Class Biomedical Science from King’s College London. I recently graduated with a Master's in Physician Associate Studies from St. Georges University London. Additionally, I serve as an examiner, responsible for marking and providing feedback during the summer examination series. I aspire to become a competent clinician, working in both A&E and General Practice. Learning new concepts has piqued my interest even further. Therefore, I want to share my knowledge with other students so that new discoveries in the contours of medicine and other subjects can be made.
I achieved A*A*A in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and an A in Mathematics, despite being predicted D and E. It was a challenging but rewarding journey, made possible by a few dedicated teachers and my sister’s tutoring. That experience drives my passion today: to make tutoring accessible and empowering for students who just need the right support at the right time to unlock their full potential.
I have 7 years of experience tutoring GCSE Maths and Science and 5 years of tutoring A-level Biology and Chemistry. Additionally, I have spent a year tutoring SEN students, including those with autism and ADHD, which was an incredibly rewarding experience.
I regularly participate in competitive sports, such as badminton, cricket and chess. I was honoured to receive the London Mayor of Science Award alongside the Jack Petchey Award on three occasions.

As a dedicated and passionate PGCE student, I am excited to apply my skills and experience in a tutoring role while I continue to build my teaching career. I bring a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment where each child can achieve their full potential. My teaching journey has been shaped by diverse experiences—including classroom placements and private tutoring—which have strengthened my ability to tailor learning to individual needs.
Throughout my BSE1 placement in a Year 6 class within an EAL school, I worked closely with pupils from a range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This experience helped me develop adaptive teaching strategies and a clear understanding of how to scaffold learning effectively. I consistently aligned my teaching with the National Curriculum, used formative assessment techniques, and prioritised inclusive approaches—key skills that now inform how I personalise learning in a one-to-one tutoring context.
In my role as a teacher partner in a Year 3 classroom, I supported a wide range of academic and emotional needs. Collaborating with the class teacher, I led small-group interventions, created tailored resources, and provided pastoral support where needed. These experiences have translated well to tutoring, where I take a focused, pupil-led approach—adjusting my methods to ensure each child feels supported, challenged, and confident in their learning journey.
My one-to-one work as a GCSE tutor supporting five students has been particularly valuable in developing targeted instruction and feedback techniques. I built strong relationships with each student, quickly identifying gaps in understanding and adapting my teaching style accordingly. I promoted independent learning, resilience, and a growth mindset—core principles I bring to every tutoring session. This role also enhanced my communication with families, ensuring ongoing progress and shared expectations.
Academically, I hold a Distinction* in BTEC Business Studies, and my background in Law and Criminology has strengthened my analytical thinking, organisation, and understanding of behaviour and safeguarding. I am confident in applying statutory guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education and committed to ensuring pupil wellbeing in every learning environment.
Beyond formal settings, I have volunteered in after-school clubs and led activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and engagement. These experiences have broadened my classroom management skills and informed my tutoring style, which is interactive, positive, and tailored to each learner's interests. My personal interests in reading and sports enrich my ability to build rapport with pupils and make learning enjoyable.
I strongly align with the values of Be Strong, Be Kind, Be Proud, which I actively embed into my work with children. I encourage a “give it a go” attitude, nurturing resilience and helping children learn from mistakes. I model kindness and create a safe, respectful space where learners feel valued and able to express themselves. In every tutoring session, I strive to build pride in their progress and support both their academic and emotional growth.
I fully understand that tutoring, like classroom teaching, requires patience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset. I am driven by the progress I see in pupils and take pride in supporting them to overcome barriers, achieve goals, and become more confident learners. With a strong foundation in pedagogy, assessment, and child development, I am excited to bring high-quality, individualised support to pupils as a tutor.

I have always found myself to be trustworthy, hard working and intelligent and i love teamwork. When we at worked i showed good communication skills and collective team spirit to get the job done, the company could rely on me to take the initiative and to stay calm under pressure. For these reasons, I believe I would be ideal for the job.
I'm more suitable to teach the subject because: since my secondary school have been into teaching of chemistry, I do helps my mates out through some difficult topics we are taught in class more so through out my two teaching practices courses while I was doing my degree, I taught the students secondary school chemistry, during my NYSC( Nigeria youth service corps) I taught the students secondary school chemistry and I'm familiar with the subject curriculum and the national curriculum, this give me more experience on how to teach chemistry to a suitable level for the students.
I'm skilled in using and improvising instructional materials to enhance my teaching to make the learning for suitable and interesting for the students.

My teaching experience is particularly notable in the field of Science, where I have effectively managed class sizes of 20 to 35 students across both online and offline platforms. This has been complemented by my dynamic involvement in entrepreneurship, which has enhanced my ability to create engaging and productive learning environments. My academic achievements are underscored by my proficiency in Science and English, as demonstrated by my strong performance in high school and senior secondary school examinations along with couple of National level examinations.
I bring to the table several key achievements:
A proven track record of boosting student performance through customized educational strategies in COVID lockdown period. A creative teaching approach that breaks down complex concepts, fostering a sense of curiosity and a love for learning. A collaborative spirit that has enabled me to forge enduring relationships with students, parents, and fellow educators, thereby building a cohesive educational community.
This combination of academic prowess and practical teaching experience positions me well to contribute significantly to any educational setting, driving both student success and collaborative learning.

I have always enjoyed interacting with children and strongly believe that interacting with younger students has taught me the importance of patience and understanding. Tutoring enables the expansion of an important skill set, such as, the ability to break explanations down into new perspectives when a pupil doesn’t at first understand. It is thrilling when that ‘lightbulb’ moment in a pupil’s eyes arises once the answer/solution clicks.
As a student, I achieved high grades and enjoyed sports although I would say my main strength has always been empathy and ability to connect with people. Interacting with both children and parents has always come naturally to me. During my time at secondary school, I was often chosen to tour prospective parents on Open Day and younger children would regularly approach me for guidance (both academic and otherwise).
Moreover, in 2023 I was diagnosed with ADHD. At school I often found it difficult to study and didn’t know why it was so hard to simply sit down and concentrate. Having undiagnosed ADHD meant that I resorted to trying different learning methods and experimenting with a multitude of revision strategies to complete my studies.
Despite having ADHD I managed to retain strong grades throughout my academic journey. The diagnosis simply enabled me to deepen my understanding of how to navigate my studies whilst having an attention deficit. The knowledge and patience I acquired on this journey I would be glad to share with tutees regardless of whether they have learning difficulties.
