My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

Hi everyone, my name is Ta’Liyah and I'm a passionate person with a strong background in GCSE and A-Level English literature, GCSE and A-Level Psychology, GCSE Spanish and quite good in English language GCSE. I love helping students grasp challenging concepts and watching them succeed. With my patient and supportive approach, I tailor my tutoring to fit each student's learning/revision style. While I haven’t tutored with a professional agency, I have tutored/ helped peers, friends, etc since primary school and in addition to that I do have experience working with kids as I was former Head Girl in secondary school so I’m great with teamwork and 1-1 sessions.

Please contact me at my email ***@*** for lesson enquires. I teach GCSE and ALEVEL Biology as well as ALEVEL Psychology. Every session will be tailored towards the needs of the student. I will start with a scope of the general grasp the student has of the subject in order to create a plan to improve grades. I will provide notes, questions and papers that are organised myself. If needed, I can also help students formulate a revision plan to maximise study time and take some stress off students during the revision period. I can also provide some help towards medical school application such as some consultation or analysis as to which medical school to apply to with the student’s unique statistics. I can also help with personal statements and UCAT and BMAT preparation. I am a medical student at Barts and the London (Queen Mary University of London). I know exactly how stressful it can be to go through GCSEs, Alevels and the application process to medical school. So I’m here to provide any help I can to ease the process a little and maybe make it a bit more enjoyable and manageable. I can help simplify complex topics and provide easier ways to remember difficult concepts and theories.

Hello! I am a medical student who's looking to begin tutoring. I have experience with working with younger people as I am a mentor with Target Medicine wherein I help 16-18 year olds with their applications to medical school. I am also a volunteer with Education for Choice UCL, in which I go to schools around London and provide workshops on abortion and contraception.
I tutor in Psychology (up to A-Level), Chemistry and Biology (up to GSCE level), English and Maths (primary level to KS3)
The first session is free so your child can see whether I'm the right fit for them. My start date for taking on students is the beginning of June.
If you have any questions or would like further information, don't hesitate to get in contact with me, I reply quickly :)

Hiya, my name is Beth and I'm an 18 year old student currently on a gap year before heading to university to continue to study Psychology & Philosophy.
I offer tutoring in GCSE/AS/A Level Psychology, and AS/A Level Religious Studies. I know the AQA Psychology and OCR Religious Studies (Christianity option) syllabuses inside out having previously sat both qualifications myself. This has given me insight into the best preparation and learning methods.
I can work with students to identify and tackle gaps in knowledge and tricky subjects, and help them learn to create useful and meaningful revision resources that will be invaluable in the lead up to their exams. Additionally, I can provide my own full marks essays and mark schemes so we can review what makes a successful response. I can also provide full online flashcards.
I hold an advanced DBS certification (paperwork available on request) and am happy to provide references.

Psychology Tutor

As a professional tutor with a background in child psychology, I am dedicated to making learning fun and informative. Engaging lessons are crucial to capturing a child's interest and sparking a genuine curiosity for the subject. I aim to turn even the most challenging topics into enjoyable learning experiences through creative activities, interactive discussions, and real-world examples.
I understand that every child learns differently, and I use my expertise to identify the best strategies for overcoming their specific challenges. Whether your child struggles with focus, confidence, or grasping complex concepts, I adapt my teaching methods to ensure they understand the material and feel empowered to succeed.
I have over four years of professional experience in private tutoring, specifically focused on Key Stage 2 (KS2) students. My expertise covers Mathematics, English, Science as well as Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
I take a tailored approach to each of my tutoring sessions, carefully personalising them to address the unique needs of each student. Whether it's reinforcing weak areas, introducing new concepts, or honing exam techniques, my goal is to help your child achieve their full potential.
My degree in child psychology has been invaluable in tutoring, especially in helping students manage stress during exams. Understanding how stress affects learning allows me to create a calm environment where students can manage anxiety and approach their studies with clarity and resilience. This ensures they are both academically and mentally prepared to succeed.
I would love the opportunity to discuss how I can support your child's academic journey. I can be flexible with my weekend timings but am available between the hours of www.*** , & www.*** weekdays (excluding Thursdays) .

Having done 6 A-levels (usual number is 3) and achieved high grades (A*A*A*A*AA) I have learnt a lot about study techniques that help improve recall and the understanding of topics. I believe it is empirical to teach with passion, through this I will not only improve your knowledge of the subject, but also give you confidence and determination to deepen your study within the topic yourself.
I am happy to help you with understanding concepts, covering class lessons, homework, and preparation for A-level and (I)GCSE.
Tutoring sessions will be conducted through Skype which will allow me and you to broadcast our screens and use the interactive whiteboard.
Send me a message either by WhatsApp, Email, or on this platform with times that would suit you and I will try to accomodate you. I am able to tutor from 8am - 10pm (11pm finish). Send me a message with what you want to cover and what Exam Board/ Specification you are following.
Hope to hear from you soon!
