I am a professional maths physics and engineering tutor with over 4 years experience (500 hrs +) tutoring online and in person. I am a chartered civil engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers CEng FICE.
I am a part time lecturer in civil engineering at a local regional college in Belfast.
I have extensive experience tutoring children from primary school, age 9, through to 11+ Transfer Test as well as GCSE, AS and A Level. I also tutor adult learners in civil engineering and maths.
My approach to tutoring is to work at the pace of the student and bring the topics back to first principles so the student gains a thorough understanding of the basics. Once that is achieved, he or she can tackle the more complex problems with confidence.

Online Physics Lessons
Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.
I am an award-winning and highly experienced "super" tutor and academic coach with over 15 years of tutoring, teaching and coaching experience, during which period I have made multiple students become university toppers and world prize winners. As for my own qualifications, I have a First Class Honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Doctorate in Engineering (Expertise: High-fidelity numerical simulations). As an undergraduate student at university, I was ranked number 1 with a cumulative average of 84%, for which I was honoured as the `Top Engineering Graduate`. I passed my A-levels (examining board: Edexcel) with straight A grades (note: there were no A* grades at the time), and my Mathematics mark in particular was ranked among the top in the world. To date, I`ve also authored multiple high-impact scientific journal publications.
I started tutoring undergraduates and postgraduates at the age of 19, and A-level students as early as 17. Until recently, I was also employed as a Senior Teaching Associate in Mechatronics Engineering at a leading UK University, where I was widely regarded as the highest-rated Academic. Occasionally, I offer lectures at various other institutions on a variety of subject areas including, but not limited to, Engineering Mathematics, Thermofluids (Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics), Heat Transfer, Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics, Solid Body Mechanics (Statics and Rigid Body Dynamics), Mechanical Vibrations, Structural Analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Soil Mechanics and Geotechnics, Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Programmable Systems, Control Systems (Laplace Transform and Z-transform), Power Systems and Analogue Electronics. Currently, I have many students at various UK institutions and institutions overseas, ranging from Cambridge University and Imperial College (London) to IE School of Architecture (Madrid). These students have been very happy to work with me because they are being prepared to reach their highest potential, and this is somewhat evident from the fact that they typically acquire the highest marks in their class / cohort. Of the hundreds of students that I have tutored / coached over the past 15 years, almost all acquired the best possible grade and none has ever got a grade lower than a B, despite the spread in the aptitudes and circumstances of incoming students. I believe this is a phenomenal tutoring record and I have been working hard to keep my standard of tutoring at its highest level.

I am a first year Physics student at the University of Kent. I have always enjoyed teaching and academia, so much so that my dream in life is to become a theoretical physicist after graduation. Please see below the latest feedback I received from a lesson observation of an online 1:1 lesson.
Tom taught a lesson on quadratic sequences. He started by establishing the student’s confidence on the subject and then shared his screen to display a well prepared series of whiteboard slides. The student was asked to identify the relationship between a series of numbers leading to establishing the nth term. These initial sequences provided the base for the future slides, which contained further, more complex sequences for the student to solve. At each stage, Tom encouraged the student to break down the workings to ensure errors were avoided – he then annotated the whiteboard accordingly. Tom’s manner was easy going and relaxed. The student was actively involved throughout and, to quote Tom ‘did most of the work’ is a very positive way. This allowed for Tom to constantly assess and pitch to the level required. Tom was able to self assess well and commented that, if he were to the lesson again, he would have included more simple questions to start to build up confidence before going on to more complex sequences. Overall a really positive lesson, with a personable and approachable tutor.
My name is Guy and am an Ilkeston based tutor covering the immediate and surrounding areas with bespoke in person tuition and more recently UK wide with effective online options also. I am a Maths and Physics enthusiast with an aptitude in essay based subjects as well ,specifically economics. I am currently an undergraduate at Imperial College for Aeronautical Engineering and am happy to teach all abilities up to GCSE. From my tutoring background I have developed a calm and reasoned approach to mentoring. I have tutored maths online via a text-based mentoring app where we used whiteboards an to guide students . As a violinist of 9 years I have also tutored experienced players during my last 4 years of school. Overall I can draw from my experience to ensure sessions are engaging yet effective. I teach GCSE Economics, Maths and Physics and am proficient in all types of question, from exam to a more problem solving type. Using the specification I can tailor any material taught to the student’s needs, maintaining precision in key concepts. I prefer a two-way dialogue when teaching as I believe this is the best way to learn.For Economics I have strong knowledge of key diagrams and theories, as well as the ability to discuss extended chains of analysis . Lastly, as a young person myself I find that I can relate to my students very well, which is important when building a successful relationship.
