About Test Preparation

Test preparation (also known as test prep) is an educational course or tutoring service that's goal is to increase students' performance on standardised tests. Examples of tests like these include entrance examinations for high school, colleges and universities.

Although for some students preparing for an exam might feel easy and straightforward, for others it isn’t as simple. This is a difficult question to answer, as every individual is different. Test prep courses allow teachers to prepare each student individually and work with their strengths. However, there are some universal tips that you can try to incorporate into your study schedule:

Plan your study time - a very simple tip that many fail to incorporate. If you’re someone who has a hard time concentrating or keeping deadlines, planning your study time is a vital first step. If you can’t study for long periods of time, start by setting away an hour each day for studying. It might be hard to follow it in the beginning, but the longer you do it, the quicker it will become part of your routine.

Get enough sleep - this might not seem related to you, but trust us, sleep is a vital part of your study process. Although it might seem like a great idea to pull off an “all nighter” the day before your exam, this often leads to worse results. It’s always recommended to get a good night's sleep the day before an exam, so you’re well rested and can fully concentrate.

Take breaks - while it might seem like a great idea to study for hours at a time, this can actually be counterproductive. Every person is different and after a while our brain has a hard time processing information. Take regular breaks to freshen up your mind
