About our owner and founder
I am a committed, enthusiastic and friendly tutor/mentor with 30 years of teaching experience and up to date knowledge of teaching methods. Since graduating from the University or Reading in 1992, I have taught in a variety of Norfolk schools - both primary and secondary (including an American school here in the U. K.). I have a proven track record of improving pupil achievement in maths and am able to offer tailor-made tuition to meet individual pupil needs - whether the student is struggling to keep up at school, developing confidence or preparing for exams.
Home Educated children I am happy to work with home educators and their children. As home educating families often have very individual requirements, please get in contact if you would like to discuss options for daytime sessions. I also offer discounts for home educated students taking lessons during school hours (9am-3pm) on weekdays in term-time. Please contact me for details.
Due to the popularity of services, I now operate Discovery Tutors in order to be able to meet the demands of existing and future clients. All of the tutors have been personally vetted by me, have enhanced DBS checks and undergo child protection training.

Teaching is my passion. My purpose in life is to create a positive environment in the world. I love to teach children and students of any age group. I have also been associated with Brahma kumaris (World Spiritual Organisation) for 7 years. I have a profound understanding of my subjects, adeptly tailor instruction to diverse learning styles, fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment and effective communication. I also encourages critical thinking and empower students. Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects to students from diverse backgrounds. This experience has honed my ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, foster a positive learning environment, and adapt my teaching methods to individual student needs. Additionally, I recently authored my first book, "One Light and the Angelic World," which has further enhanced my knowledge and passion for sharing knowledge with others. Furthermore, my association with Brahma Kumaris, a world spiritual organization, for the last seven years has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the holistic approach to education. I enjoy teaching German and French and am based in Clapham in South London. I teach ONLINE ONLY - it works very well for one-to-one lessons and avoids the problems inherent in getting to a venue! It also means that you can take your lessons, even when you're away from home.
I have a PGCE (Post-graduate teaching certificate in Education) in German and French. I have been tutoring for the last 8 years, with considerable successes among my GCSE students, who all improve by several grades - usually mostly to Level 8's and 9's.
I am bi-lingual in German and speak excellent French. I conduct lessons in French or German right form the start. Adult learners are very welcome: I teach adult students who work for overseas companies, have German or French partners, or need to pass language exams in order to live and work abroad.

How long have I been teaching for?
I taught for 10 years at University Sydney in Australia German as Foreign Language for all Levels. Since I found most passion in teaching 1-on-1 sessions , as I really can connect with the learner and help achieve their dreams, I started to teach fully independently a year ago (from June 2017) and since then I am preparing learners from all over the world for German Language exams, teaching business German within Companies through Webinars or teaching German for leisure. The methodologies for teaching will be adjusted and taylored toward the induvidual needs of the learner. Therefore book a free class with me on Skype!
