Raising children is definitely a very interesting and fun time, filled with countless questions. There is a lot of love, a lot of laughter, a lot of new emotions and many moments when you will wonder "What should I do now?!". The topic is endless, but there are some key points that are good to focus on in order for your child to develop properly, both mentally and physically.

Every person in his development goes through age crises. The meaning of these crises is the acquisition of certain habits that will further help him in the development and realisation of personal potential. The presence of crises means that your child is developing properly. 

So we should not be afraid of them - behind each one there is some skill. 

The word crisis comes from the Greek κρίσις "decision, outcome", which in turn comes from κρίνω "discern, judge". "Crisis" means "a turning point, a revolutionary leap in development - severe but very useful if experienced correctly." Perhaps many are also familiar with the curious fact that the word crisis in the Chinese language is ambiguously translated. It consists of two characters - one translated as danger, the other as an opportunity. Every crisis is a kind of new start, a playground, a nodal station where you can rest, reflect and set new goals for yourself, analyse everything you know and everything you want to learn.

Childhood is a period during which many friendships are made. Each one helps the child to learn to communicate, as well as to learn to be a good friend. This is an important part of the child's skills for his psychosocial development, which will help her/him achieve success in both his personal and professional life.

  • First friends. During the first few years, most children communicate primarily with family members and close friends. The protective environment of unconditional love and acceptance that families provide creates a strong foundation of trust and self-esteem in children, which can lead to further social attachments. Often a child's first friends are the children he or she meets in kindergarten.

  • Learning through play. Young children learn most of their lessons through play; it is also the basis for building social competence. Usually, 2-3-year-olds play together rather than separately with others, when they feel comfortable they begin to interact and share their toys. In kindergarten, children become even more interactive, communicating with each other. They talk about the things they did after kindergarten or during the weekend, and they show interest in their friends' stories. This exchange of thoughts is a big step in social development as it works by itself and is other-focused.

  • Caring for each other - As friendships develop, children become more aware of others' feelings, express happiness when their friends are happy and show empathy for their feelings. They discover similarities between each other and instinctively know that common interests and dreams are important in maintaining friendships. Children discuss their favourite colours, foods and games and enjoy the fact that they are similar to others. A child's desire to protect his or her friends also develops.
