I am a GCSE student currently taking my examinations with predictions of all 8/9s. After lots of hardwork and determination, I have been able to achieve highly in all GCSE subjects on offer and I believe that as a young teacher, students will feel more comfortable learning with likeminded people. Although it may seem easy, GCSE's and studying is hard! I for one found subjects like Maths and Science very difficult and spent hours practicing and perfecting the subjects. Now, I teach my friends and family all of the subjects I have learnt for GCSE and I know all of the tips and tricks for revision and effective studying. I will make lessons fun and interactive ensuring students are prepared for whatever exam they are taking or for any help in subjects they are struggling with.
I am about to take my Music GCSE exam with a predicted result of grade 8/9. I achieved 100% in my performance and composition and feel teaching is the right next step. I have a distinction in Grade 8 acoustic guitar and have achieved my Grade 5 music theory. I enjoy playing electric/acoustic guitar and singing as well as improvising on guitar! I have performed in countless venues solo, within a Rock band, in choirs, in orchestras and in musical theatre shows. Although I started learning with an acoustic guitar at the age of 7, I have now got two electric guitars, a keyboard, microphones and a ukulele! I personally adore Pop, Rock, Britpop and Jazz music and my favourite artists include Oasis, Chappell Roan, Fontaines DC, Arctic Monkeys, The Cranberries, Billie Eilish, Amy Whinehouse as well as many more!
On the first lesson, I will work out a plan personalised to the student and their aims and goals. For all guitar students, we will cover fun songs to play on guitar with strummed chords and different plucking techniques including any songs the student would prefer to learn! Within one lesson, we will also go over basic scales needed for theory and improvisation and we will work from the RGT grade music books or the Rock School music books learning the songs needed for acoustic classical guitar/ acoustic guitar performance grades. The student will be able to learn how to play the guitar songs needed for grades even if they don't wish to take them or, they can have the option just to learn any songs they would like for a fun experience. The student will also learn the parts of the guitar and begin to learn all the notes of the fretboard for sight reading. Additionally, I will ensure the student is able to read chords and tabs for guitar as well as basic notation that can be helpful for theory and other instruments. The student will have the ability to play a wide variety of techniques including Hammer-on, bends, slides, finger-picking and palm muting. I will also teach the student about different ways of playing guitar and different effects that can be created using Amps and tuning.
I will also cover how to write chords on paper- key skills for songwriting- as well as tips on performing that could be useful for any musician no matter the instrument. As I have skills in writing my own music as well as producing my own music, I will be able to encourage students to explore different genres of music and different styles of playing. Within the lesson, we will cover everything stated above to ensure the student has a well rounded musical knowledge. I will always ask that the students go away and practice at home but this will never be forced- the student will only practice if they enjoy playing! If the student grows to love the instrument, they will crave the music and they will want to start playing alone at home without being pressured.

- Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach singing, piano, recorder, theory and musicanship to adults and children of all levels of ability, in styles that include classical, pop and music theatre. As well as teaching singing I also provide piano accompaniment. Having sung with national opera companies and performed in concerts and music theatre I now specialise in coaching students for auditions and perfomances. I hold an ARCM (Associate of the Royal College of Music) in teaching. I studied performance at the Opera School at the Royal College of Music. I studied piano with Yu Chun Yee and Ian Lake (professors of piano at the Royal College of Music). I studied music theatre at the Actors Centre in London. - How much do you charge? I charge £30 for 30 minutes, £40 for 45 minutes, £45 an hour - Where do you teach? I teach at home in London, N20. The nearest tube is Totteridge/Whetstone on the Northern line. It is a 10 minute walk from the station, or you could take a bus for 2 stops. There is plenty of free parking outside the house. - When are you available? I am available weekdays after 4pm, Monday mornings and weekends up to 2pm. I also teach throughout school holidays. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I have students of all ages, from 5 to 95! I teach all grades in singing from total beginners to professional performers and have lots of experience preparing students for auditions and music theatre exams. I teach up to grade 5 piano and recorder as well as teaching music theory. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? ABRSM graded exams. Entrance to stage and drama schools. Auditions for music theatre, West-End shows, TV, films etc. - Do you have a personal message for students? I don't have a fixed teaching method but like to adapt to the interests and natural abilities of each student, so each lesson is an exciting experience for the student and myself.

As an ambassador for education and diversity, I am proud to offer over five years of teaching experience, with my pedagogy and teaching being recently recognised by Ofsted as outstanding. Sometimes though we are restricted by our individual differences, we may experience sensory or physical difficulties that limit our ability to express our unique musicality. I develop ways to open musical worlds to those with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Hi I’m Holly, I have grown up performing all over the world including, Paris, London, brighton. I have been singing opera since the age of 9 and recently graduated from a 3 year degree in musical theatre in Guildford.
Having studied Musical Theatre since the age of 15, I am now graduated from a prestigious London drama school, signed with an agent and am beginning the process of entering the industry. I wouldn't be where I am today without my teachers and tutors and I want to pay that forward to help young people achieve their creative goals. I like to work very personally, so we will sit down in our first session and discuss your personal goals, I will then work with each individual student to reach those goals. I studied classical vocal technique for 15 years with Howard Milner, and supplemented this with private language training (French and Russian), repertoire coaching with Floral Opera, Summer International Summer Music school (four years) and further training with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. I worked as Area Leader for Sing Up in Lincolnshire and am currently the visiting singing teacher for a large secondary academy in Nottingham as well as being a vocal tutor at University of Lincoln. I have performed in professional opera companies in the UK, and performed recitals and gala concerts throughout the UK and in Northern Italy. I teach classical styles, as well as music theatre, jazz, folk, pop/rock.
