Hi, I’m Bryony—I’m 27 and currently in my second year of a BSc Mathematics degree. I achieved highly in my school examinations of Mathematics, Physics and Music (3A*S) so I know how to help students achieve high levels. I am also on track to achieving a first in my Mathematics Degree.

I have nearly 4 years experience tutoring Mathematics and Physics to students ranging in age from 7-17. I have coached KS2 to A-level in Mathematics and Physics (including different syllabuses).
A large proportion of my students achieve high marks in their examinations, with a few gaining a 9 in GSCE Maths last year. I had one student last year who went from a 5 in their mock Mathematics GCSE, to getting an 8 as their final grade, and is now studying it at A Level! I tutor for Secondary School Entrance Examinations (including verbal and non-verbal reasoning) to help students prepare for these. My sessions focus on building the problem-solving skills, pattern recognition, and logical thinking needed to tackle these challenging question types. Using practice papers, proven techniques, and timed drills, I help students improve accuracy, speed, and confidence.

I tutor the theoretical side of City & Guilds Electrical Installation Qualifications (whether simply college or with an adjoining apprenticeship) drawing upon my own experience completing a Level 3 apprenticeship. CAROLINE LENTON-WARD studied at the Royal Academy of Music where she was awarded the Charles Norman Prize. On leaving the RAM, she was granted awards from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust for further studies.
Caroline has appeared with the Royal Opera, Opera North, Kent Opera and the D'Oyly Carte, and performs regularly with BBC Singers, Sinfonietta Voices and London Voices. Solo appearances have included performances at the Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall and Philharmonic Hall with the RLPO, Mozart's C Minor Mass at the Barbican, Messiah with Sir David Willcocks, the role of the Virgin in Honegger's opera Joan of Arc with the RLPO, conducted by Libor Pesek, Verdi’s Requiem in Ely Cathedral, Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony, Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle for the BBC, and Britten’s War Requiem. Caroline was a soloist in James McMillan’s Busqueda for the 10th Anniversary concert of Music for Today series with the Philharmonia at the Royal Festival Hall, and has been a soloist in TV Times Christmas with the Stars at the Royal Albert Hall.
Caroline was a vocal tutor at Goldsmiths, University of London; and was Choral Director and Singing Teacher at Sydenham High School and Grey Coat Hospital School; she set up and ran the Westminster Choral Project and was the founder Musical Director of the Westminster Junior Singers and Youth Choir; she was on the advisory panel for Go Sing singing in schools project. I am a professional violinist, violist and conductor, studying for a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge. As a Supervisor in the Faculty of Music, I teach undergraduate music students at Cambridge. I also teach conducting, violin, viola, and chamber music at the Saffron Walden Centre for Young Musicians in Essex. With over nine years of tutoring experience, I also offer private tuition in violin, viola, orchestral conducting, music, music theory, philosophy, history, essay and dissertation skills, english literature, classical civilisation and violin performance.

Approach to Teaching
– I favour a structured approach to teaching. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs. I also inform the design of my classes through a constructive dialogue with my students. This enables me to structure my lessons within a curriculum that meets my students' specific educational needs, and serves to enable my students to achieve tangible improvements in their academic performance and musical ability.
Academic Tuition
– My academic lessons tend to be structured around specific sections of the syllabus, or particular topics that students require help with.
– I employ a seminar style format, in which I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary which my students can use to develop essays, essay plans, revision tools, and exam revision packs.
– I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli.
– I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing short points of rest or temporary closure, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. I am also happy for students to interrupt the flow of the lesson if a burning question arises.
Musical Performance
– Violin lessons tend to be carefully planned to focus on specific technical aspects of performance. To train musicality, I often teach this through the use of Kreutzer and Fiorillo etudes, Dont studies, and also pieces of repertoire catered to the student's musical interests and technical requirements.
– I am open to considering student repertoire suggestions if they are particularly passionate about a certain piece.
Lesson Structure
– Academic lessons tend to be 45–60 minutes in length, but I can adapt my teaching schedule to provide students with additional support if needed.
– Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters for a student's requirements.

No doubt you want to get a foot in the door fast.
Learn some power chords and play along with your favourite records in the first lesson.
Don't feel abashed about lacking any previous experience. It's not neccessary. I've taken many adult total beginners up to public performance level.

You don't have to do them but it's nice to be able to guage your progress and if you're hoping to do a GCSE in music or go to a music college being able to show your credentials can be essential to getting an audition.

Having taught music privately for over a decade whilst also furthering my own education, I have worked with students of various ages and abilities. Whether it is primary school students picking up an instrument for the first time, helping a sixth form student with their application to a music school or an adult who is looking to round out their playing, I am able to structure lessons to whatever the student’s needs are.
I have a formal music education, graduating from The Academy Of Contemporary Music in 2016 with a BA Honours Music Performance degree under tutors such as Giorgio Serci and Frank Tontoh, with experience of a wide variation of musical situations that I use to inform my teaching such as: big band jazz orchestra (NYJO), musical theatre, pop/rock groups, solo instrumentalist, lounge singer, classical/contemporary vocal accompaniment, live event manager and studio engineer assistant.

My name is Panos, a professional musician hailing from Greece and currently based in the UK. I earned my Jazz Guitar degree from the esteemed Philippos Nakas Conservatory in 2014, studying alongside some of the most renowned musicians in the country.

I am passionate about helping my students learn the essential principles of their instruments and develop a comprehensive understanding of music, all while having fun along the way.

I have graduated in Violin at the Conservatorio di Musica "G. P. da Palestrina" of Cagliari-Italy and in Viola at the Conservatorio di Musica "G. Verdi" of Milan-Italy. My professional activity led me to work in several orchestras as performer, and in institutions as upper- string and chamber music teacher. I lived and worked in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and since 2012 I made London my home, where I developed further teaching experience within the British system. I have also founded "The Geminiani Project" ( www.*** ) of which I am the director and the leader of the Camerata Geminiani, ensemble that has been invited to perform in England, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden.
At the same time I have established my ensemble, I have also launched the Geminiani Youth Orchestra (formed by young musicians aged 6 to 17 years old) as I believe in the importance of giving an opportunity to young players to perform together, and the amateur ensemble Hampton Chamber Orchestra; we performed with both orchestras at various venues in London.
Regarding my teaching technique, I believe that each student is different and unique, so the first thing I try to do is to establish a connection, then I try to understand the major skills and major difficulties of the student in order to develop a personalised system; I pay much importance also to the emotional aspect the student is dealing with in order to build passion and love for music. I strongly believe that, once achieved a technical skill, the student must have the chance to play with the teacher and experiment the excitement of making music together.
I have experience in preparing students for auditions, competitions, or ABRSM/Trinity exams with excellent results; I love what I do and I love to see my pupils achieving high level results. Some of my students have been awarded at international competitions, some other former students are covering leading roles in international orchestras or in chamber ensembles.

Joanna is a polish cellist based in London. She has made her debut as a soloist performing Goltermann’s Cello Concerto in G-major at the age of 12 and has since appeared in concerts and festivals around the world as a concerto soloist, recitalist, chamber as well as orchestral musician. As a soloist she has performed in many renowned concert halls in Europe, Asia and United States as well as at important festivals. In 2017 she made her debut on BBC Radio 3. With a broad range of repertoire, her musical specialisms encompass works from the standard repertoire alongside lesser known pieces. In her recitals she often includes new works, many of them written especially for her and dedicated to her.
Joanna is a founding member of the award-winning Bukolika Piano Trio. She also collaborates with the guitarist Mario Kurtjak as well as with the Rowan Cello Quartet. In January 2020, she received her PhD. Her doctoral research as well as her CD album focused on music for the cello by Kaija Saariaho as an example of new qualities of sound and expression. Joanna received a scholarship from the Clumber Studio to study with Christoph Richter at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she graduated with Distinction in 2018.
Joanna is a highly demanded teacher, and holds a position as an assistant professor at the Academy of Music Krakow in addition to her ever-expanding class of private cello students across London. She is also involved in the promotion of music by the Venezuelan composer Antonio Estevez, whose music is well known in South America but still undiscovered by many audiences.

My violin lessons are for anyone, no matter how young or old, who wants to learn to play the violin within the context of folk, pop, or rock. We will look at classical violin technique to ensure safety whilst playing, as well as how to read music and music theory. We will look at folk, pop, or rock repertoire, and at the techniques that can be used to make these genres come alive on the violin.
MUSIC PRODUCTION LESSONS:
At its simplest, music production is the careful creative process of capturing and showcasing the raw recordings of a track, arranging them in the sonic sphere in such a way that a listener can truly connect with the artist's intention. More complexly, it can build an intriguing world of sound around the core songwriting/compositional elements. I teach my students how to use music production software and how to put sounds together, leading through to creating fully recorded, produced, mixed and mastered music projects.

"My 12 year old daughter wanted to learn music production. Being Windows based we went down the Ableton live route (Industry standard). I had no idea about the software at all. We came across Iona whom was "local". Her in depth knowledge of Ableton and her strong music background have been a perfect fit for tuition. My daughter has a weekly 1 hour lesson via zoom and has progressed with basic setup to compiling beats and working towards songs. She has covered midi, instrument selection and use of microphone. Dominique is a recent Master's graduate from the Royal College of Music and has teaching experience of over five years. In line with her passion for sharing music, she believes that anyone can succeed at learning to play an instrument with the right support and environment. Using some elements of the Suzuki method, such as listening, imitation, and memorisation, and combining these with note-reading, rhythm, and musicianship skills (playing alongside other musicians/recording), Dominique can see her pupils make significant progress in each lesson. Because playing an instrument is physically challenging, it is essential to spend a constant amount of personal time for practice between lessons, which Dominique recognizes from her own experience as demanding. This is why, in each lesson, she discusses and makes a plan with her pupil regarding the practice structure, as well as being available for any questions during the week, on the phone and via email.
