I always begin with a conversation to identify the areas where my students are struggling and tailor my lessons accordingly. This typically involves summarizing the topic and then using practice questions to reinforce understanding. However, I am flexible and can adapt my approach to suit your specific needs.
I always helped my peers when I was your age and I have also been tutoring GCSE Maths and science in a college for 3 years, during which I have gained valuable experience in the teaching field. My goal is to build a strong rapport with each of my students and develop personalized teaching methods to suit their individual learning styles. Having recently completed college, I have up-to-date knowledge of exam board techniques, which I aim to pass on to my students to help them succeed.
Additionally, I emphasize the importance of building confidence alongside academic skills. By creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment, I help students overcome their fears and anxieties related to maths and science. I believe that with the right guidance and practice, every student has the potential to excel.
I wish everyone the best of luck with their exams and studies! Your success is my priority, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Whether you need help with specific topics or general exam strategies, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals.

After achieving QTS in 1999, I taught in several primary schools for five years, covering all ages (from Nursery to Year 6) and a wide range of abilities (from working towards level 1 up to level 6), in the full range of core and foundation subjects. However, having a predominantly financial/ numerical background, I decided to focus my teaching on mathematics and commenced teaching mathematics in secondary schools from September 2004, covering a wide range of abilities from below NC level 3 to GCSE Higher level.
From May 2007 to August 2019, I was employed by Kip McGrath (Keighley), tutoring students (during evenings and on Saturdays) in Maths (aged 6 to 18 years, at KS1 level up to GCSE Higher level), English (aged 6 to 11 years, at KS1 &2) and in verbal and non-verbal reasoning, in preparation for 11+ High School Entrance Exams. This involved supporting students in small groups working on individual, predominantly computer-based, learning programmes, to enable them to catch-up or improve their skills in specific areas, whilst working towards their personal targets/ goals, e.g. in KS2 SATs, 11+ Entrance Exams or GCSE exams. This experience inspired me to set up my own private tutoring business, which I have been running since April 2014, providing tuition to individual students in maths (aged 7 – 18+), English (ages 7-13), preparing students (aged 9/12) for local High School Entrance Exams and preparing adult learners for Functional Skills exams in both Literacy and Numeracy.
Having studied many courses covering a wide range of disabilities, including ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder, I believe I have a good understanding of, and empathy for, students with SEND and SEMH. To this end, I have taught many students with a range of learning difficulties/ barriers to learning and feel that I have made a considerable difference to each student’s enjoyment of mathematics and life-outcomes. I believe that my own enjoyment of learning enables me to encourage and motivate others to successfully engage in the learning process.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I have delivered many lessons via Skype and Zoom and feel that I have become confident and competent in using these platforms for teaching students remotely and would be happy to continue to do so if required.

I am a fourth-year medical student with four years of tutoring experience, consistently earning excellent reviews from students and parents. I specialize in teaching sciences and maths, subjects I excel in and am passionate about. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and tailored to help students grasp complex concepts with ease. I create custom PowerPoint presentations for each lesson, breaking down topics into manageable sections, typically covering a quarter of the topic per session to ensure steady progress and topic completion within a month. I incorporate interactive elements such as questions, quizzes, and exam-style practice to reinforce learning, improve understanding, and develop strong exam techniques. I do exam questions specific to their exam board. A recent highlight was tutoring a Year 12 student who began with a D in biology and chemistry and improved to As by the end of our lessons in year 13. I love being part of a student’s journey, watching them grow, gain confidence, and reach their potential. Having experienced how overwhelming and challenging the medicine application process can be, I’m passionate about helping students navigate difficult concepts and achieve their goals. Seeing the moment when things “click” for a student is incredibly rewarding for me.

I am an international student currently undergoing a Beng, Meng in Mechanical Engineering. I have experience in maths and engineering as I have completed a preparatory class in France focused on those two particular subjects.
I am looking to help students learn and like those two subjects as they can be daunting and hard to grasp, but are fun to study and work in. My goal is to make people interested in those subjects and show them that solving puzzles can be fun if taught right.
I do not have much experience as a tutor per se, only helping my siblings and friends when they do not grasp certain notions but I easily adapt to the needs and requirements of those I am teaching and am able to see problems from different angles as to get to the root of the problem and find the explanation that better suits the student.
I can teach both online or in person as I am fully vaccinated, but I will keep a mask on as we never are too safe.

I'm also a well-known tutor in the community, working hard with parents to improve their children's grades. In the past, I have helped many students below average to achieve an average or higher grade. I have also worked as a Science lecturer at Milton Keynes College and at BUTC college, where I used a range of strategies that helped my students to achieve 100 % results in their core subjects. Additionally, I have worked with children with special needs, such as children with dyslexia. I always design a programme that tailors towards my student's needs and my knowledge in both Science and particularly in Psychology has helped me to enhance students' cognitive skills so they can easily retrieve and process information, especially in complex areas. Moreover, I make sure my students understand the concept well before moving on to real life exam questions as well as setting them work to build on what we have done together. Furthermore, I use real life scenarios, linking it with scientific knowledge to improve their understanding. My passion and dedication towards my profession has helped my students to improve their learning and reach their full potential. Most of my students have achieved higher grades in both GCSE and A level, helping them reach challenging careers such as Medicine, Engineering and Psychology. With all of this in mind, I build a good relationship with my students, boosting their confidence, vital when pursuing their careers.

Hi I'm Reeva and I study economics and maths at the university of Leeds! I will be able to go through solutions and answer all your questions; there are never too many! I’ve tutored GCSE students before which has proven to be useful as they were able to understand how to tackle exam questions more easily and 1-1 personalised help is always useful. I have achieved a grade 9 in maths and studied it at A-level so I have a lot of experience. I've previously helped students before by communicating with them to understand what they find difficult and explaining key concepts and past papers with them . Whether it's algebra, geometry or more, I am more than willing to help you understand maths more and fulfill your potential and achieve your goals. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
