Hi,
My name is Russell and I have been a qualified teacher for over 10 years now. I have worked in a number of different education settings including primary, secondary, further education and SEND. I can offer tutoring for any reason you have, whether it be to improve confidence, work on specific areas or prepare for SATS/GCSE's. I have experience teaching both Foundation and Higher tier GCSE so can cater for any need.
I always offer my first session for free so that you can see whether I am the right fit moving forward. My rate is £25 per hour however, I am happy to negotiate this also.
I have attached my numbers to my profile.

Thank you for viewing my profile! Please take some time to read through my profile before contacting me. My name is Steven, 45 from Worcester. I am a friendly and compassionate Maths Tutor, and published academic author who is deeply passionate about tutoring and helping others to succeed.
I am a graduate from the University of Aston Birmingham. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a certificate in Mathematics from the Open University and have A levels in Maths, Physics, Economics and General Studies.I am available from 4 to 9 in and around the Worcester area. Since the covid pandemic I teach online only, so I am able to teach students from other parts of the UK.
I have lectured part time at Halesowen College in the black country and have over 20 years of experience teaching Mathematics up to GCSE level on a ‘one to one’ basis. In 2015 100% of the students that I taught gained grade C or above in Mathematics, some even moved up two grades from their predicted level as a result of my one to one tuition. I have presented and authored several Maths revision DVDs that have been sold on amazon and used in UK schools as well as in other countries as far off as New Zealand and India.
I have taught a wide range of students with varied abilities and conditions including ADHD, cerebral palsy, anxiety and depression. I specialise in helping students with low levels of confidence and self esteem to help them succeed and gain the results that they want. I feel deeply privileged to be able to help others achieve academically and make a difference to their lives.
I am fully CRB checked in compliance with the protection of children act 1999. I can provide up to 3 references from parents of students that I have recently taught. My rates are very competitive and included in my fees are free Maths revision videos, notes and past papers.
Please feel free to get in contact with me to see how I can help you or your child get the results in Maths! Please scroll down below to see recent testimonials from parents of students that I have recently taught.
** Please only contact me if you are serious about wanting tuition and can commit to lessons once a week or fortnightly (no time wasters please). Due to a high demand for my time I have to schedule appointments. Once we have agreed to start tuition you will be offered a regular time slot each week or every other week. I do not teach on an adhoc basis. If you need to cancel a lesson then I will need at least 24 hours notice otherwise the full cost of the lesson will be charged.**

I am 37 years of age and have more than 11 years of teaching experience. A dynamic, ambitious and hard-working teacher with experience in state and independent school systems across the age range from Reception to KS4. With 7 years’ experience as the Head of Mathematics in an Independent school (London) and 11+ years’ experience as a Mathematics Teacher with proven records of helping children progress, providing positive learning experiences, effective behaviour management systems, the highest standards of pastoral care and inspiring the Gifted and Talented and SEND pupils. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated negotiating and organising skills with a firm sense of responsibility and capacity to work hard under pressure.
I have more than 11 years experience of tutoring pupils of all ages. I enjoy tutoring and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation. When tutoring, I find it very important to allow the student to feel confident in their work using lots of praise. It is important that the student feels they can get something wrong, so long as they try. This helps me to find out any misconceptions they might have, so I can re-teach any topics they may need refreshing. I ensure children are challenged age appropriately, and support learners to gain confidence when they are back in the classroom. I am able to work at home or in the pupil's home (happy to travel up to 5 miles from my home) and am currently available evenings and week-ends.

Hello, I'm Heather! With 8 years of teaching experience, I currently work in a grammar school and have previously held the position of Head of Key Stage 3 Maths. I hold a First-Class Honours BEd in Primary Education with a Maths Specialism and have since transitioned to secondary teaching, where I’ve developed a deep passion for supporting students in their mathematical journeys.
In addition to my teaching role, I am also an Edexcel GCSE examiner, which gives me valuable insight into what examiners look for and how students can refine their answers to maximise their marks. This experience helps me to better prepare my students for exams and ensure they understand exactly how to approach each question effectively.
My teaching approach focuses on building strong relationships with students to boost their confidence and make them feel comfortable engaging with the material. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, ensuring students grasp foundational concepts and develop a deep understanding. By fostering a positive, supportive environment, I help students build resilience and tackle challenges with a growth mindset.
As a tutor, I adapt my lessons to meet the individual needs of each student, whether they're struggling with basic concepts or aiming for top grades. I also focus on exam technique, providing strategies to improve problem-solving, time management, and accuracy.
Whether you're looking to improve your GCSE results, master key concepts, or gain confidence in your maths skills, I’m committed to helping you achieve your goals. I'm excited to work with you and support your progress in maths!

I have just finished my second year of undergraduate studies in physical natural sciences at Cambridge, on course for a first-class degree and continuing with physics and maths next year. I am an enthusiastic tutor with experience teaching A-level physics, chemistry and maths. I focus on building a strong subject knowledge base with a view to improving exam grades. I tutor physics, maths, further maths and chemistry at GCSE and A level. I believe that time effective revision is key to exam succes; I plan to teach students the techniques that I used to achieve straight 9s at GCSE and straight A*s at A level. I greatly enjoy discussing science and maths and believe that this is another crucial element of engaging tuition.
