I have been a primary school teacher for 20 years and in that time have successfully led English and Mathematics in schools. I am currently a deputy headteacher, but also have an NPQH (headteacher qualification). I have previous successful experience of tutoring primary age students in English and Maths and am currently offering a limited number of sessions to help fund my son going to university!
My approach is driven by an assessment of learning need, followed by a tailor made program of tutoring designed to meet the needs of individual students. I use high quality resources and have a quiet and patient approach when working with students. I am able to offer online tutoring.
My wife is a learning support assistant, I have three children, two dogs, a cat, a tortiose and a guinea pig.

I am an experienced fully qualified primary and secondary (grammar) school teacher specialising in the eleven plus (GL, CEM, independent schools) as well as the Kent and Medway tests, and science up to KS3. I work hard to get to know every child as an individual and to develop an understanding of what makes them feel happy and secure in their learning. I have several years experience working with children and have recently completed my PGCE in primary education but have tutored some children at secondary school age who have additional needs. I have experience in working with special needs, especially autism.
I adapt my style of teaching to each child and will do an assessment at the start of each new booking. I can then tailor the learning to the child and fill in any missing gaps.
Lessons can be done online at the moment and once safe to do so, can take place at my house or at Deal Library.
