I am a Qualified Teacher, working at a Grammar school in Aylesbury and I have recently been appointed as an examiner for Edexcel A-Level Mathematics.I am very passionate about my subject and I have a different approach to teaching including more practical ways which engage pupils and enhance their understanding as the new curriculum requires pupils to have a deeper understanding to be able to solve problems.
I believe that every pupil can learn mathematics and I work hard to achieve that, especially with pupils who want to learn and succeed.
Although I work in Grammar schools, I have 6 years of private tuition experience with pupils who need more support and with high-achievers.

I am 45 years old with 21 years experience of Science and Maths teaching aged 8-16 and an experienced tutor of Maths and English am able to offer individual private tuition in Maths, English (including reading), Science and 11+ entrance exams.
I am able tutor Maths and English to KS3 level and Science (combined or separate Sciences) to GCSE.
During the last 15 years, I have provided tuition to many students across a wide range of ages and abilities with excellent results both in terms of increased attainment, enthusiasm and enjoyment of their learning. As a result I have received several glowing testimonials from parents. I always have high expectations of students in my care, regardless of their ability or age.
I am also an experienced KS2, KS3 and GCSE Science examiner, currently working and assessing both Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE examinations. I enjoy my teaching and I always try to ensure learning takes place in a relaxed and focussed situation. I am able to work in the student’s home subject to mutual availability, I have also tutored very succesfully online for over 6years both nationally in the UK and internationally with a variety of students. I am currently available some evenings depending on work and family life and weekends on a Saturday - this availability changes as people book in for lessons on a first come first served basis.

I completed my PGDE with Teach First, being part of a team deep-dived during two Ofsted inspections, achieving outstanding both times. This involves writing detailed lesson plans and providing reading lists, depending on the topics being studied, as well as asking students to do some work between sessions.

Whether that is more conversation driven or written responses and guided marking, I have been trained in a number of pedagogical skills to ensure students retain knowledge and deepen their explanatory power when using this knowledge.
