I use Skype for communication and Use online boards to explain the topics. In my lessons, I will likely use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to engage my students and help them build confidence in their mathematical abilities. This may include breaking down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts, providing step-by-step instructions for problem-solving, and offering personalized feedback and guidance The content of my lessons can cover a wide range of mathematical topics, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus and beyond. I use a combination of text explanations, examples, and practice problems to help students understand and apply key mathematical concepts. The content of my lessons will depend on the needs and goals of your students. You will likely work with my students to assess their current level of understanding and identify areas where they need additional support. From there, I can tailor my lessons to meet the specific needs of each student, whether that involves reviewing core mathematical concepts, practicing problem-solving skills, or preparing for an upcoming exam. My lessons are designed to be interactive and responsive to the student's needs. I can answer questions, provide feedback, and adjust the pace and difficulty level of the lesson to match the student's skill level and learning style. my lessons are focused on helping students build a strong foundation in mathematics and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their academic pursuits. Whether you are struggling with basic math concepts or need help preparing for an advanced exam, I am here to support you and help you achieve your goals.

After achieving QTS in 1999, I taught in several primary schools for five years, covering all ages (from Nursery to Year 6) and a wide range of abilities (from working towards level 1 up to level 6), in the full range of core and foundation subjects. However, having a predominantly financial/ numerical background, I decided to focus my teaching on mathematics and commenced teaching mathematics in secondary schools from September 2004, covering a wide range of abilities from below NC level 3 to GCSE Higher level.
From May 2007 to August 2019, I was employed by Kip McGrath (Keighley), tutoring students (during evenings and on Saturdays) in Maths (aged 6 to 18 years, at KS1 level up to GCSE Higher level), English (aged 6 to 11 years, at KS1 &2) and in verbal and non-verbal reasoning, in preparation for 11+ High School Entrance Exams. This involved supporting students in small groups working on individual, predominantly computer-based, learning programmes, to enable them to catch-up or improve their skills in specific areas, whilst working towards their personal targets/ goals, e.g. in KS2 SATs, 11+ Entrance Exams or GCSE exams. This experience inspired me to set up my own private tutoring business, which I have been running since April 2014, providing tuition to individual students in maths (aged 7 – 18+), English (ages 7-13), preparing students (aged 9/12) for local High School Entrance Exams and preparing adult learners for Functional Skills exams in both Literacy and Numeracy.
Having studied many courses covering a wide range of disabilities, including ASD, Dyslexia, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder, I believe I have a good understanding of, and empathy for, students with SEND and SEMH. To this end, I have taught many students with a range of learning difficulties/ barriers to learning and feel that I have made a considerable difference to each student’s enjoyment of mathematics and life-outcomes. I believe that my own enjoyment of learning enables me to encourage and motivate others to successfully engage in the learning process.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I have delivered many lessons via Skype and Zoom and feel that I have become confident and competent in using these platforms for teaching students remotely and would be happy to continue to do so if required.

Hello, My name is Katy and I'm a qualified Primary School teacher with a current DBS. I've experience teaching Years 3-6 and teaching children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Lockdown has been difficult for all of our children and I'd like to support your child and fill any gaps they may have. I would help your child become a confident and independent learner. I've lead online sessions throughout the first lockdown. These included whole class lessons and small group targeted Phonics and Maths interventions.

Hi I'm Reeva and I study economics and maths at the university of Leeds! I will be able to go through solutions and answer all your questions; there are never too many! I’ve tutored GCSE students before which has proven to be useful as they were able to understand how to tackle exam questions more easily and 1-1 personalised help is always useful. I have achieved a grade 9 in maths and studied it at A-level so I have a lot of experience. I've previously helped students before by communicating with them to understand what they find difficult and explaining key concepts and past papers with them . Whether it's algebra, geometry or more, I am more than willing to help you understand maths more and fulfill your potential and achieve your goals. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!

I am an international student currently undergoing a Beng, Meng in Mechanical Engineering. I have experience in maths and engineering as I have completed a preparatory class in France focused on those two particular subjects.
I am looking to help students learn and like those two subjects as they can be daunting and hard to grasp, but are fun to study and work in. My goal is to make people interested in those subjects and show them that solving puzzles can be fun if taught right.
I do not have much experience as a tutor per se, only helping my siblings and friends when they do not grasp certain notions but I easily adapt to the needs and requirements of those I am teaching and am able to see problems from different angles as to get to the root of the problem and find the explanation that better suits the student.
I can teach both online or in person as I am fully vaccinated, but I will keep a mask on as we never are too safe.

I have been teaching for 10 years in Harrogate. My passion lies in the fun, play based learning, which engages children and accelerates learning. Our learning will take place outside as much as possible. Before sessions commence, I will have a detailed discussion with the child's parents, to gather as much information as possible, and so that I can tailor our learning to a theme which suits a child's interest.

I have been teaching for 14 years. My experience has been across primary aged children but mainly in Reception, year 1 and year 2. I have a 6-year-old boy of my own and we never stop learning together through play and more recently through formal learning! My experience allows me to adjust my teaching style to suit all types of learners. I LOVE what I do and as a learner myself I am always striving for the best, evaluating the way that I work and developing my practice. I love meeting new people and watching children grow and learn. My home is suitable and inviting for anyone and I offer a wide range of activities that support learning about a range of concepts in all subjects. This includes foundation subjects as well as core subjects. I would be very excited to have the opportunity to teach you.

Hello! I am a Mechanical Engineer who achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. This means i understand the necessary tips and tricks to get those extra marks in exams. Spaced repetition, active recall, and tricks in recognising exam patterns are some of the skills that are proven to be effective.
I break down complex topics in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, into easy and understandable sub-topics.
Lessons can be a thorough run-down of all necessary work to achieve every single mark possible, and/or sharing advanced tips and tricks to tackle exams efficiently. We go through theory, try practice questions, and once the student is confident enough, move onto doing past paper exams. However, these lessons are flexible; teaching is mostly centred around the student's abilities, and at the pace they choose.

Hello, I'm Jess and welcome to my profile!
I am a full-time Primary Teacher with a mathematics specialism. When not in my classroom, I offer online lessons for all primary-aged children in subjects ranging from Maths, English and Science. I am down to earth and very approachable by both children and adults. I believe learning should be relatable, memorable and most importantly, fun. Each of my lessons build on each other to enable progression and sustained learning through different modes of teaching.
After just one year of tutoring I have produced a fantastic portfolio of reviews from past clients. Please see just a few below.
EK - "Jess adapts her style to suit the mood. This changes session by session and, by the end of the session, my daughter always has a huge smile on her face and sense of self accomplishment of what she's just achieved in her private session."
JH - "Jess is absoloutely fantastic with my son, she's quickly able to identify areas of focus and provide targetted support. It has been great to see James' confidence grow week on week."
I provide online tutoring with entails the use of a visualiser, visual manipulatives (maths) and online teacher resources to provide targeted support.
What would my first session look like? I often use the first session as a get to know you session along side a small 'quiz'. This is so there is mutual respect and tust between myself and the tutee as I beleive it is so crutial that children feel comfortable in asking questions about their learning without hesitation. This session also facilitates the next learning step for the subsequent lesson as gaps in understanding can be identified and targeted.
Each session lasts 45 minutes for £25
