The Key to Success
Everyone deserves the very best chance in life and providing your child with additional opportunities to learn, reinforce and extend understanding is key to developing confidence and the motivation to succeed.
I am an independent private tutor in the South Manchester area, teaching Primary age children. I pride myself on being able to assess quickly, determine next steps and deliver my lessons in a creative manner adapted carefully to the needs of each of the children I teach. I have been doing all my teaching online since March 2020 and have enjoyed finding different ways to engage and support my pupils.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss my availability and what I can do to help your child.

Rebecca K. Testimonial August 2020
I first met Rebecca K. nearly 20 years ago when as Headteacher of an exceptional private independent school I needed to employ a Head of English.
Rebecca stood out against other well qualified applicants.
Not only did she have excellent subject knowledge but showed real passion for enhancing children’s love for learning and excitement.
Over the years she demonstrated this repeatedly and not only in English, her ability and passion for other subjects was amazing and she could readily be asked to teach Maths, IT, Geography to name but a few.
As my career extended to becoming an Executive Headteacher over several schools I could call on Rebecca to advise and recommend about various up to date teaching and learning materials and techniques.
Apart from her professional knowledge she is warm caring person who really cares about the children she teaches of all abilities. She is patient, understanding and quickly appreciates the way a child learns and adapts her teaching to that individual. She has a good sense of humour which she readily uses to get the best out of her pupils without putting too much pressure on them to succeed.
If you require additional support for your child, I would thoroughly recommend you talk to Rebecca, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

My name is Kirsty. I am currently in my 6th year of teaching Maths and work at a school in Oldham. I am Head of Key Stage 4 Mathematics and also a local lead of education for mastery mathematics, a programme looking at developing learning in Key Stage 3. I am an outstanding practitioner and deal well with pupils who struggle to grasp certain aspects of maths. I live in Manchester City centre and drive so can tutor at your home. I am available evenings and Sundays and cater for both Key Stage 3 and 4, higher and foundation.
I’ve been a Mathematics teacher in the Tameside area for the last 15 years. Happy to help with all levels and abilities.
I have just finished my A levels and tutoring at Yipiyap, a role which involved acting as a maths teaching assistant in a high school, and teaching GCSE maths online through running small group sessions.
I achieved A*s in A level maths, biology, philosophy and EPQ, and I'm currently teaching myself A level further maths, hence my enthusiasm. At GCSE, I achieved grade 9s in maths, biology, chemistry, physics (and English literature), and an A (best grade) in additional maths- which I can also tutor in.
I have 2 years peer mentoring experience for which I earned an award:
"You were given the award because you worked with several very vulnerable students for significant amounts of time, helping them to adjust more easily to life in a large secondary school. You were also very helpful with some students who were quite challenging during the sessions, all of which you dealt with sensitively and compassionately when you met them. Your commitment to the programme was impressive as you worked with students during Year 12 and Year 13 and were always reliable so that students never had to be turned away."
I successfully prepared my brother for his 11+ exams, as he got into Sale Grammar and Manchester Grammar. I also have a year's experience in helping a group of year 11 boys with their GCSE maths, for which I got very positive feedback from my teacher.
My teaching style is informal and exam based; I believe developing rapport is crucial, and getting students to think through the problem themselves is vital.
Having recently finished Sixth Form, I have a great knowledge of the GCSE and A level specifications and an ability to tackle them from a student's perspective, and, crucially, I can relate to my students and their struggles with maths. This position, coupled with a conscientious and friendly nature is why I believe I am a great tutor.
I genuinely believe that through hard work, discussion and collaboration anyone can do Maths.
