I have taught for over thirty years, mostly Italian, Latin and Classical Civilisation. I have prepared students successfully for GCSE and A level and regularly work as an examiner.
I have extensive experience as tutor, having run classes for school age students and adults alike.
I am particularly keen to develop online tutoring, due to its flexibility and effectiveness. Although a bit daunting at first, you soon see the benefits of this medim of instruction. It can also be used in combination with more traditional face to face meetings.

Hi, I'm Sasha! I've been teaching Classics (Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation, Ancient History) for 6 years. I've taught ages 11-18 at school, and have been tutoring since I left school in 2015.
I really care about helping others understand what can be a difficult and complex set of subjects, mostly because I know the joy and satisfaction of getting to grips with them. Whether you're starting out from scratch, getting back into it, or preparing for an exam, I can help you improve your understanding and accuracy of the languages and culture of the ancient world.
I am currently tutoring online outside of school time, but have more availability in school holidays. I am happy to recommend textbooks and other resources, but will not require you to buy anything extra. Please feel free to get in contact, as I am always looking to take on new clients.

I am a Lay Vicar at Chichester Cathedral, where I sing professionally with the cathedral www.*** , approachable, and professional, I am passionate about teaching and helping people to develop their knowledge and skills.
My business, JB Tutoring, operates from Chichester. I offer teaching and tutoring in singing, voice use, music, classical languages and classical literature. My language teaching is based on the way in which classical languages are taught at Oxford, and I believe in the development both of analytical language skills and an instinct for the art of translation. For GCSE and A-Level, it is important for vocabulary and grammar to be secure, so I encourage a rigorous approach to language, but one that is www.*** ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with an enthusiastic, patient, and understanding tutor, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil. It is vital to tailor sessions to the student, and I customise my lessons for each student I have based on their needs.

I have worked at Repton School in Derbyshire, Loretto in Musselburgh near Edinburgh, and Hymers College in Hull from which I have recently retired after 18 years as Head of Department. These are all established independent schools with nationally recognised reputations for high standards of education and attainment. In all three I have taught GCSE and A level Latin, some Classical Civilisation and Ancient History. Over the years I have marked papers for various boards. I am happy to tutor children/adults of all ages in Latin from level 1 through to GCSE and on to A level. I can teach the language, literature and civilisation elements of all current GCSE/A level Latin papers. I am happy to provide additional support for pupils already preparing for these examinations who feel that some extra work in particular areas would benefit them, or to teach them independently of any school/college. I am also keen to assist any adult learners interested in Latin for its own sake, who would like to make a start in the subject and see how they get on.

I moved to the UK from the USA after completing a Masters degree and www.*** in Classical Philology at Harvard University. My first teaching jobs in the UK were at Winchester College and Westminster School, where I taught GCSE and A-level classes in Greek and Latin.
I have published numerous articles and books on Greek literature while working as a lecturer at the University of Bristol (2007-2011) and Corpus Christi College, Oxford (2011-2016). After the birth of my third child, I stopped lecturing and took a job locally as teacher of Greek and Latin at Pilgrims' Prep School in www.*** ;
At the University of Bristol, I taught undergraduates and post graduates, many of whom were Adult learners.
The diversity of my work experience has allowed me to teach from many different textbooks for beginners and intermediates and all of the popular text prescriptions for exams.
I also offer support for university applications to UK and USA universities. I give alumni interviews for Harvard applicants in the Winchester www.*** ;I am very skilled in online instruction, but I don't have a Facebook page or personal website. For my publications and academic work, I use my birth name (Hitch), many of which can be found on Google or Amazon.

I have been teaching Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation at a secondary school for the last four years. Prior to this, I tutored primary age children in multiple subjects, including Latin, Ancient Greek and Mathematics. I also tutor Mathematics up to GCSE level and have helped many pupils with different learning styles to understand many different concepts.
I believe in teaching in an enjoyable and memorable manner, but one which also keeps the information fresh in the pupil's memory. A range of teaching styles means that I can adapt to a preferred way of learning. I have completed my PGCE and NQT and therefore am a fully qualified teacher. I would be happy to discuss exactly what would be wanted out of lessons before beginning them, as well as offering the first lesson for www.*** ;

I am currently Head of Classics at a leading independent school in Cheshire. My speciality subjects are Latin and Greek languages and literature. I have 15 years of experience in teaching to pupils from KS3 to Oxbridge level in schools and I have also taught adults outside of school. In addition to teaching and improving students from the ages of 11 to 18, I can teach older students who need to learn/improve their Latin and/or Greek for university courses, as well as those who wish to learn for their own personal interest with no intention of taking a formal assessment. I prefer to tutor online and I can provide electronic copies of all the materials. All notes made by myself during tutor sessions are emailed to the student immediately after the lesson for consolidation. I like to make my lessons enjoyable and engaging while guaranteeing clear explanations and, above all, marked improvement and success. I look forward to meeting www.*** ;
