I'm a top Cambridge maths graduate and computer science PhD, ex-Google, Microsoft and NASA, offering online maths tuition for A-level and Oxbridge-entrance, as well as GCSE for students aiming for a high grade in order to do STEM A-levels.
I went to King's College, Cambridge, on an open scholarship, and got a top first in maths, coming third in my year out of several hundred maths students across the whole university. I then switched to computer science for my postgraduate work, gaining a diploma with distinction and a PhD a few years later. After that, I spent 35 years in the tech industry, doing a mixture of research and software engineering. I worked on problems as varied as speech and language processing, genomics, online advertising and medical image analysis. Among many other publications I have a joint-first-author paper in Nature, one of the world's top scientific journals.
All this was great fun, but I always longed to do a lot more teaching than I had the opportunity for, and to return to mathematics itself rather than just using it when necessary for writing code. So that's what I've been doing since late 2021. I live in Malvern, Worcestershire, with my wife and teenage son.

My name is Nicholas J., or simply 'Nick', for short.
I have been playing the piano since 2001, and I continue to play on an almost weekly basis in my local church.
I began giving piano lessons back in 2012, and have absolutely loved the experience ever since.
I offer online piano lessons, and online music theory lessons.
Online lessons are a great way to learn, particularly in modern times.
If you're unsure about which level is appropriate for you, we can discuss this in your first free trial lesson.
I am a strong believer that anyone is able to learn music, so long as time is spent developing the required skills.
Whether you're just a beginner, or a more advanced student needing guidance, let's explore music together!

Our average class size is 14 and we have an overall pupil to teacher ratio of 1 to 12. Classes in the Infants and Juniors are limited to 16. Year groups in the Middles and Seniors may average 26 - 28. These are then taught in two ability groups thus maintaining our small class sizes. Bowbrook's strength lies in its size.
This personalised approach enables all pupils to flourish. We are large enough to compete and to challenge, yet small enough to care.

Our company has a long tradition in the education sector. After many years working for other training providers and becoming disillusioned with how training was delivered, we decided to set up our own Training providing company. We had one sole aim in mind, to provide training that meets the learners requirements and the Employers needs, so Akash Training Agency was born. Since this time we have helped 100s of learners and Employers with different apprenticeships / training that has previously been let down by other providers. We pride ourselves on our quality service and how our courses are individually tailored, delivering a truly bespoke service. With our team of highly qualified staff, including Assessors/Tutors who in themselves have many years experienced in different sectors, from registered managers of Health and Social Care Homes, Qualified Nurses and Managers and developers of successful companies. We work very closely with a number different Colleges, redefining the way Apprenticeships are being delivered, making the whole process more transparent, our mission is to deliver RQF (NVQs) in a learner centred way ensuring the learner is at the centre of all training supplied.

We believe that children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them. We follow the welfare requirements in creating a setting which is welcoming, safe and stimulating, and where children are able to enjoy themselves, to grow in confidence and to fulfil their potential.
We provide a curriculum based on the individual needs of the children guided by The Early Years Foundation Stage (DfE 2017).
The Early Years Foundation Stage requires that we supply parents and carers with a short written summary of their child's development in the three prime learning and development areas of the EYFS: personal, social and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language; when a child is aged between 24 - 36 months. The key person is responsible for completing the check using information from ongoing observational assessments carried out as part of our everyday practice, taking account of the views and contributions of parents and other professionals.
