History Tutor, Teacher, Instructor
Hello! My name is Maisie and I'm an English specialist in the UK! I have been tutoring for many years now, and have coached students from KS2 all the way up to A-Level ages. I have also taught adults to speak, write and read in English, and assuredly also offer these services-- though the majority of my clients are children (and their guardians/parents by association). If I was to pin down one thing that I always hear from my students, it is that they 'actually enjoy my lesson', and you can't blame them for the honesty! Very rarely do we get a tutor when we're doing great and have no insecurities or concerns about a subject, and when we struggle to do something, we struggle to enjoy it. I believe that it is my role as a tutor and teacher to inspire my students, and ensure that they have a good time so that they are productive and retain as much as the taught content, whilst realising the beauty of learning. To this day, I have never had a student that I have not been able to teach, or that hasn't had fun during their course with me. One of the main reasons for this is the amount of detail that I put in to make sure that a pupil has knowledge in all nooks, crannies and corners of the curriculum that I have created especially for them after a casual chat to find out their weaknesses, strengths and areas with room for extra improvement. Each lesson is made for you, it's what tutoring is and should be.

As a passionate and dedicated Primary Education teacher, I offer a personalised, engaging, and supportive tutoring experience tailored to meet each learner’s unique needs. My background includes a broad spectrum of classroom experience across three distinct placements: working within a high SEND classroom, a mainstream primary setting, and a private school. This has given me the adaptability, empathy, and versatility to support students from a wide range of educational backgrounds and abilities.
I understand that no two learners are the same. Whether your child needs help building confidence, catching up on key concepts, or stretching themselves further, I create a calm, positive learning environment where they feel heard, supported, and motivated. My experience in SEND education has equipped me with effective strategies for differentiation and breaking down complex ideas, while my time in mainstream and private education has strengthened my knowledge of the national curriculum and high-achievement expectations.
Beyond academic support, I focus on building strong relationships with my students, helping them to grow in confidence and become more independent in their learning. I aim to make learning enjoyable and accessible, using creative and practical approaches that inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning.
If you’re looking for a tutor who is professional, patient, and genuinely invested in helping your child succeed, I would love to support their journey.

I am a secondary school teacher in Birmingham, currently Head of Humanities as a History specialist. I have taught GCSE and A Level successfully for over 25 years. I have consistently achieved outstanding results for students of all abilities. I have been a marker and team leader of GCSE exams for OCR and AQA exam boards.
Instilling knowledge is the key to exam success, and students are expected to learn facts to support their exam work. I also teach specific skills and structires needed to answer exam questions, using past paper materials and model answers. Marking work and feeding back are vital tools for me, as its getting students to improve selected areas of their work.

KS2 Maths, English, history and geography teacher in Birmingham, UK. I have vast experience teaching KS2 classes in Birmingham and have the ability to assess a child's understanding and skills development used by various teachers. This helps me to establish prior learning, move the learning, and deepen learning. I do understand that children learn concepts and skills at different paces and therefore have the capacity to allow each individual child to develop at his or her pace. Motivation and how to sustain it is key in every child's learning. This is what drives my teaching. I will help a child enjoy learning and make him/her develop that keen interest in learning and enjoy the rewards of hard work. Give your child a chance
