One of the great joys of playing an instrument is to become able to capture the emotive force that the artistes you so admire can evoke.
Discover how they do it. What scales they use, how they create their sublime musical phrases, what their vibrato is like, what ornamentation they favour...
No doubt you want to get a foot in the door fast.
Learn some power chords and play along with your favourite records in the first lesson.
Don't feel abashed about lacking any previous experience. It's not neccessary. I've taken many adult total beginners up to public performance level.
Music theory, Rock, Pop, Acoustic Guitar and Bass Grades.
You don't have to do them but it's nice to be able to guage your progress and if you're hoping to do a GCSE in music or go to a music college being able to show your credentials can be essential to getting an audition.
My students have a 100% pass rate across 30 years.

I started with lessons at school and I was also involved in countless performances both within school and as part of a performing arts academy that I would attend several classes with on a weekly basis. I have a degree in Popular Music from the University of Gloucestershire and I am now based in Hertfordshire. During my training I was able to experience studio work, performance work, composing and experimenting with various genres, in terms of which I am very open minded. I then went on to work in 5 different, well respected, studios in and around London. I can use all of this to help you progress as a player, to help you get to a proffessional standard, or as a fun hobby. I have experience with working with people of all ages and a clear basic DBS check.
Playing guitar is a lifelong skill and by having lessons with me you can learn exactly what you want to learn and exactly how to do it properly. I am more than happy to offer online lessons via Zoom or Skype as well.

I can teach you rock, jazz; classical grade exams if required. Or we can just learn just for fun, learn how to strum your favourite songs. Basically I will find out what you want to know and if I can help we'll do it! And if i can't (eg Flamenco) we will bow and move along! I mostly teach in/near the borough of Camden (eg Hampstead, Swiss Cottage, Kentish Town, Belsize Park, Tufnell Park), Haringay or southwest Enfield but if it's feasible to come to you elsewhere, it's worth a chat. Can also teach music theory, songwriting, bass guitar if required. Very experienced musician.

I have worked professionally as an actor, a playwright and as a singer-songwriter for the past five years, since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2016. Last year I wrote, composed and starred in a new original musical which is being revived again this year. Later, in the summer, I will play my first festival set as a solo singer-songwriter. I have been playing guitar, keyboards and writing songs for over ten years. My first album and tour as a singer-songwriter are due next year.
At school, I received 8 grade 1 (the highest possible grade) Standard Grade Awards (equivalent of GCSEs). I then received 5 grade A (the highest possible grade) Higher Awards (equivalent of A Levels), as well as receiving Best In School Awards for English and History, I received Certificates of Merit for the three other subjects: Music, French and Maths.
I have worked as a Nanny, teaching instruments to under 10s, and have extensive experience teaching drama school auditionees of all ages, students having gone on to earn places in RADA, Guildhall, LAMDA, Central and many others.

I am a qualified music teacher. My PGCE is from Canterbury Christ Church University. I have a Diploma in Music from Berklee College of Music , and a BA in Music from Dartington College of Arts. I have worked as a professional performer in a variety of groups, including appearances at major European festivals, on TV and radio.
I teach guitar, piano (or electric keyboard), and bass to advanced standard. I teach the use of music technology for composition and production. Software I have used include ProTools, Studio One, Reason, Logic, GarageBand, Sibelius, MuLab and Audacity. I teach music theory and harmony to degree level. I have taught curriculum music in schools since 2003, so can help pupils prepare for GCSE, A Level and scholarship preparation.
My approach to music education, whether it be in performance or composition, is patient and methodical. Music can have a magical effect on us, but it is not magic. It is actually very formulaic, and the learning and understanding of it is best done in a patient and methodical manner.

I am a post graduate with an honours degree in Popular Music and Production from the University of Gloucestershire, having previously studied at the Institute of Contemporary Music in London.
I’m a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter playing guitar, drums, and bass for over 10 years as well as a music producer. Having been in gigging bands since the age of 11 playing at many iconic London venues I am no stranger to live performing and have had my own tracks played on radio stations in the US and local radio in the UK. I have a love for 90s Hip-Hop and Heavy Metal but have studied genres across the board, and am currently the lead guitarist and song writer in a metal band.
My music journey started on drums which I learnt from the age of 9 going through the grades in a short space of time. Then I picked up a guitar and found my true passion and the rest is history! Any budding rockers would be coming to the right place! I can teach basic chords, scales and grades to beginners, through to advanced techniques including shredding for metal fans and established guitarists, or anyone who just wants to learn or enhance their skills for fun!

Hi there,
Name's Jordan. I'm a university student with a passion for english and music, particularly the guitar, bass and drums. While I don't yet hold a degree, I've obtained distinctions in all of my music courses for A-level without fail, if it's passion and drive you want then I'm your man.
On the English side, as long as I know what's being taught I can teach it in an engaging way that'll hopefully make English less of a drag than many seem to think it is!
As for my teaching style, I'm 19 and therefore don't hold any sort of strict teaching guidelines within me, expect me to be pretty laid back and friendly during sessions. After all, I don't believe that any sort of passion for a subject can arise from being taught in a strict and rigid way. As it so happens I'm not really a traditionalist, so if it's guitar you're here for then expect a very "hands-on approach" to get you playing as fast as possible.
Oh, and my first sessions are free!
I'll probably use this to get an idea of the subjects i'm working with and add them to a list to make sure I'm confident on all of the material going forward. If you decide that you like my general mannerisms and character for some reason, then you can be rest assured that i'll have all the answers when it comes to the learning process!
One final thing; I welcome learners of any kind, any background and any skill level. If you want to just sit and chill out while we talk about the subject matter, then we can do that. If you want to do a Grade for your instrument, give me a second to find the piece you're learning and I'll help you learn, no matter what piece it is.
Alright, that's all from me. If you like the cut of my jib, then shoot me a message or something, i'll reply pretty quickly, usually no more than a few hours, provided I have the slot free.
Okay, hope to speak to "you" soon!
